A small town built from "soft" stone, with surprises hidden in every corner

Compared to the warm amber color of the streets of Valletta, my outfit today seems "flamboyant" and out of place in this city. Perhaps because of the shyness in my heart, I chose to hide in those quiet alleys. Almost every building here is made of a special soft limestone. This stone is as soft as mutton fat when underground, and craftsmen can carve it as they wish; these rocks gradually harden and become indestructible after being weathered by wind and rain, and thus the city was formed. Walking through these maze-like streets, every step is like turning the pages of a heavy history book. The alleys are filled with a faint old smell, the traces of time, mixed with the Mediterranean breeze and the taste of sea salt. The stones on the walls are mottled, but still stand tall, witnessing countless sunrises and sunsets, and bearing the joys and sorrows of countless people. Every corner seems to have a forgotten story waiting to be discovered; every stop, you can feel the whispers of history echoing in your ears. I wander through these narrow and winding alleys, like a poet searching for inspiration, trying to capture those beautiful moments that flash by. The laughter of children comes from behind a half-open wooden door, the bells of a Baroque church ring throughout the city, and the occasional old man on the street corner, whose eyes reveal a nostalgia for the past.
