Wenzhou landmark commercial street - Wuma Street

Wuma Street is the landmark commercial street of Wenzhou, equivalent to Nanjing Road in Shanghai, Beijing Road in Guangzhou. It was historically known as Wuma Fang, one of the ancient streets of Wenzhou. The Ming Dynasty 'Wenzhou Prefecture Chronicles' records: 'Wang Xizhi, a person from Shanyin, served as the prefect of Yongjia, and governed with kindness and love. He rode out on five horses, and the old and young looked up to him with admiration, hence the establishment of Wuma Fang,' which is the origin of Wuma Street. Wuma Street, Shamao River, and Gongyuan Road area is actually a commercial district, gathering various commercial entities and Wenzhou's various snacks. Gongyuan Road features various traditional buildings and many century-old shops. If you are traveling to Wenzhou, you may choose to stay in this area. The distance to the Jiangxin Islet ferry terminal is about 2 kilometers. Jiangxin Islet Park is in the middle of the Ou River and is one of China's four famous solitary islets.
