Changle Academy of Wuhua, Guangdong

Changle Academy was founded during the Song Dynasty, and it has undergone many changes and reconstructions with the relocation of the county government over the generations. It was not until the fifth year of the Chenghua period of the Ming Dynasty (1469) that the Changle Academy, located at the northern corner of Huacheng Town under Zijin Mountain, was built. The architectural style of Changle Academy follows the traditional style of ancient Chinese buildings, constructed in a palatial style, facing south with a symmetrical layout on the left and right, featuring a screen wall, Lingxing Gate, Pan Pool, Jie Gate, Dacheng Hall, Minglun Hall, Chongsheng Hall, east and west wings, etc. It is one of the largest academies among the Jia Ying's five affiliations. With its rigorous structure and majestic appearance, Changle Academy remains as splendid as ever despite the vicissitudes of time. It has been approved by the Guangdong Provincial Government as a provincial-level key cultural relics protection unit and is now used by Wuhua Middle School, becoming an important place for learning and disseminating scientific and cultural knowledge and cultivating talents for construction.
