Chaka Salt Lake: One of the most beautiful salt lakes in China

Chaka Salt Lake is located in Chaka Town, Ulan County, Haixi Mongolian Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province, and is a national AAAA scenic spot. Chaka Salt Lake is 3,059 meters above sea level, with a lake surface area of 105 square kilometers and a scenic area of 30 square kilometers. Chaka Salt Lake is one of the four major salt lakes in Qaidam, and is a natural crystalline salt lake. During the day, Chaka Salt Lake reflects like water, forming a 'mirror of the sky' scene, and people walking in the lake seem to be swimming in a painting. At night, the starry sky and the lake surface merge into one, known as the 'mirror of the night sky'. Inside Chaka Salt Lake, there are landmarks such as a small train, Chaka Salt Lake, Romantic Horizon, and Billion Graves. As the earliest developed salt lake in the Qaidam Basin, Chaka Salt Lake has a mining history of more than 3,000 years. As early as the Western Han Dynasty, the local Qiang people already knew about salt mining for food.
