I've previously recommended the stunning view from the top of Sunlight Rock, which I consider the most beautiful seascape in Xiamen Many have asked me if it's possible to wait for the sunset on top of Sunlight Rock, and that's definitely not possible‼️ First of all, there are security personnel on the top, and secondly, they start guiding people down the mountain around 5:30 pm when the park closes. Lastly, I don't recommend any other ideas that everyone understands, one is because it's unsafe with strong winds and narrow steps. Another is because there are cameras on the top. So I suggest starting the climb at 4 pm, and aim to descend by 5 pm, then slowly walk down while taking photos. There are also many spots on the mountain to capture the distant buildings and sea, and the surrounding plants provide a beautiful blurred foreground. In conclusion: I highly recommend climbing Sunlight Rock when visiting Gulangyu Island. It is also the highest peak of Gulangyu Island. You can enjoy a 360° unobstructed view of the entire island, and even gaze at the distant Dongdu Ferris Wheel, the Lujiang Road Ferry, and the World Trade Twin Towers along the beautiful coastline. There are two types of tickets, tourists can scan a QR code or purchase at the ticket window, each ticket is 50 yuan. Local residents can show their ID card at the ticket window to purchase, each ticket is 35 yuan. If you have a tourist annual pass, you can enter for free. The only downside I can think of: the scenic area is extremely crowded during holidays‼️ There's a high chance you'll need to queue up to climb‼️
