The west side warehouse retains its cement roughcast façade, while the east side wall is inlaid with silk-screened glass bearing the same pattern. In the future, the well-preserved old factory building on the west side will be transformed into the WorldSkills Museum.

✅You can also walk south to Hongkou Riverside.

What's it like to play a real-life fruit and vegetable rhythm game in the kitchen?
🎭 The globally acclaimed 'Number One Korean God Drama' 'Chaotic God Chef Show' has made a dazzling 'debut' at the YOUNG Theater.
💥 Set against the backdrop of a huge kitchen, four 'chefs' use all kinds of kitchen utensils—pots, bowls, ladles, spoons, knives, forks, and even brooms—anything you can think of as percussion 'instruments'. With their fun-filled drumming performances and physical movements, they bring a different experience.
💥 The 90-minute performance is full of climaxes, with vivid plots and distinctive characters. The energetic 'highlight scenes' such as wedding ceremonies, plate throwing, and flying vegetable leaves add to the watchability of the show. There are no lines throughout the performance; it's all about the actors' intense drumming rhythms and beats taking the audience into the story.
⚠️ The interactive segment is also very interesting. If you like to go on stage to show off, remember to choose seats in the first row or the front row aisles, so there's a good chance you'll be cued to perform on stage!
🎭YOUNG Theater
📍Detailed address: No. 1155 Kongjiang Road, Yangpu District
🚇Transportation: Exit 3 of Huangxing Road Station on Metro Line 8

This feeling is still quite good

🏠: This performance is at the YOUNG Theater, after the renovation of the Yangpu Grand Theater, it really has been rejuvenated❗The audience seats on the first floor are not as surprising as those on the second floor😃
🚇: The transportation of YOUNG Theater is really quite convenient❗Just turn a corner after getting off the subway, no need to worry about not being able to get home conveniently after the show😃
🎉: The storytelling of the god of random cooking is really good, there is a main line🈶sub-lines, and even a bit of romance😃I have never seen this type of performance before, and I was a bit surprised after watching it this time✌🏻
Dynamic Percussion Comedy—'The Beating Chef Show'
🍳🎶🤣 Breaking language barriers with just the rhythm of dynamic percussion and humorous comedic content, it will make you laugh out loud! This is Korea's representative cultural tourism product—'The Beating Chef Show'! 👏
🌟 This dialogue-free, purely musical performance doesn't require any language comprehension, so foreign friends can easily enjoy this unique show. Based on traditional Korean music and the 'four objects game', it blends modern performance techniques without being boring at all, but rather keeps you riveted! 🤩
🍲 The show is set in a kitchen and tells a series of amusing stories that unfold when an uninvited guest—the manager's nephew—suddenly joins the kitchen staff in preparing for a wedding banquet. The actors integrate the rhythmic sounds of pots, pans, ladles, and knives with traditional Korean music, satisfying both the auditory and visual senses of the audience and allowing you to appreciate the charm of Korean traditional culture! 👍
🎭 During the performance, you will see Chinese elements such as nunchucks and acrobatics, as the director of the Beating Show is very fond of Chinese culture, hence these elements were included. Additionally, six audience members will be invited on stage to interact, ensuring that the audience does more than just watch the show but also gets a direct, immersive experience that is sure to be thrilling! 😜
Korean Nanta Cooking Show
The Korean Nanta Musical is the first non-verbal performance in Korea, created with the melody of the Samul nori as its material. It ingeniously combines the rhythms of Korean Samul nori with Western drum sets, thus making this work a success. Set in a large kitchen, the performance is structured around the process of four chefs preparing food for a wedding banquet, using kitchen utensils (pots, spoons, dishes, etc.) to create the content. The sounds produced by these kitchen tools have the explosive power of the original sounds of Samul nori, rhythmic, with a clear melody, and are an art form loved by people of all ages. Since its beginning in October 1997, it has received an enthusiastic response from audiences and has now broken the record for the most box office in Korean performance history.
YOUNG Theater was formerly known as Yangpu Grand Theater, located in one of the busiest sections of Kongjiang Road in Yangpu District, built in 1996. The theater has an elegant environment, integrating meetings, movies, performances, and exhibitions, and is one of the iconic performance venues in Yangpu District. With the development of the times, the old Yangpu Grand Theater gradually lost its popularity. In February 2018, the Yangpu District Culture and Tourism Bureau of Shanghai signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with the Shanghai Grand Theater, and it was determined that the renovated Yangpu Grand Theater would be renamed 'YOUNG Theater'.

Yangpu Park Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Jun)
Walking in a park in Shanghai
The park has a sense of history, with two exits. I entered from Longchang Road and exited from Shuangyang Road. There seems to be a small commodity market nearby, but it was closed when I arrived late.
Built in the 1950s, the park is quite large, with bridges, corridors, and pavilions, giving it a garden-like atmosphere. Of the five major tourist areas, I specifically marked the amusement area. There is a landmark elephant slide in it. I brought a camera with me, but it was so cold that my hands and feet were freezing. Then a girl, who seemed to have an instant camera, asked me to take a picture for her. This landmark elephant slide is really unforgettable.
The impression of vegetation may not be so profound in winter. I can go and see it in spring and summer. I like the lush and vibrant scenery. There are many types of trees in it, and according to the introduction, there are more than 180 kinds.
I also saw sheep feeding jade carvings, artificial mountain waterfalls, large lawns, etc. It is a free park for local residents to relax and empty their minds!

"Yangpu Park" - The "Little West Lake" of East Shanghai
Yangpu Park, located in the central part of Yangpu District, Shanghai, on Yanji New Village Street, is a large-scale comprehensive park in the eastern part of Shanghai. The park was established in early 1957, and the overall layout simulates the landscape of West Lake in Hangzhou, focusing on the water surface, using bridges, pavilions, corridors, flower racks and other garden buildings and plants to form various scenic spots. The park is divided into five touring areas: Yuhu Scenic Area, Central Scenic Area, Animal Scenic Area, Amusement Scenic Area, and Peony Garden Scenic Area, and is also known as the "Little West Lake" of East Shanghai.
The main scenic area of the park, Yuhu, is located in the north-central part of the park, divided into inner and outer lakes by a curved long embankment. The east of the long embankment is the "Brocade Bridge", and the west is the "Embankment Bridge". The 50-meter-long Wisteria Corridor is in the middle, and there is a Bishui Pavilion on the south bank of Yuhu. There are two islands in the lake, one south and one north. The area north of the long embankment is called the Inner Lake, and the eastern part of the lake is wide. There is also a boat dock on the east bank of the Inner Lake. The two islands in the middle of the outer lake embankment are more than 50 meters apart. The west island is planted with willows, oleanders, palms, acacias, arrow bamboos, Haizhou Changshan, banana plants and ground cover plants; at the southern end of the island, there is a Yuchun Pavilion, hexagonal, cinnabar tubular tiles, and eaves flying, hidden in the green shade, shyly revealing its true face...
The main attractions of Yangpu Park include: sheep feeding jade carvings, artificial mountain waterfalls, large lawns, Yuhu scenery, high slope flower belts, Bishui Pavilion, tea garden, square pavilion pool scenery, etc., the entire park presents a scene of "green in spring, shade in summer, fruit in autumn, and state in winter".
