Weekend trip from Ganzhou to Hongcun and Tachuan for autumn viewing: a nanny-level guide is here

Actually, I have been thinking since last year about going to see the autumn colors in November, and my first choice was the National Geographic recommended best autumn viewing spot: Tachuan. But last November, I chose to go to Wuyuan Huangling to see the persimmons, which has a similar style to Tachuan, so I didn’t plan another trip. This year, I am determined to go to Tachuan to enjoy the autumn scenery. The autumn viewing routes in Huangshan are generally divided into two: city area — Liyang Old Street — Xixinan — Chengkan Hongcun — Lucun — Tachuan Transportation: Ganzhou West - Yixian East (You can choose your departure time reasonably according to your situation. If the direct train time is not suitable, you can first go to Huangshan North, then take a high-speed train for about ten minutes from Huangshan North to Yixian. There are many trains and plenty of tickets.) 1. After exiting Yixian East High-Speed Rail Station, turn right and walk straight ahead, and you will see a dedicated bus to Hongcun, with a ticket price of 13 yuan. Here I want to remind everyone that if you encounter peak season, book your ticket in advance on the Yixian All-region Public Transport app on your phone, so you won’t have to wait too long on site. Tickets are one seat per person. If you arrive on site and the nearest bus tickets are sold out, you will have to wait for the next bus. If you have bought a ticket, you may still have to wait a bit on site if you arrive exactly at the departure time. Accommodation: The first choice is near the West Gate Bus Station in Hongcun, because transportation, accommodation, and food delivery are very convenient, and you can scan shared bikes anywhere. If you want to stay inside the scenic area or in a local homestay outside the scenic area, the houses there are all made of wood, and there will be a damp and musty smell inside. If you mind, don’t choose a homestay 🙅🏻‍♀️ On a friend’s recommendation, I stayed in a hostel for the first time. This hostel allows karaoke at night and group meals at noon. The decoration is artistic and doesn’t feel like a hostel costing only about 40 yuan per person. It’s mostly young people traveling alone, and seeing them makes me feel young too. If you have time, it’s most convenient to rent an electric bike in Hongcun a day in advance. The rental shop is right at the ticket office entrance of Hongcun, navigate to Cuicui Supermarket, and there is one opposite, the only one in the whole village, but they don’t have many vehicles. If you go late during peak season, there won’t be any left. For example, on the 15th and 16th, the peak days, I couldn’t rent one. Renting an electric bike costs about 50 yuan per day. If you really want to rent an electric bike, you can ask the homestay owner; some local villagers are willing to rent out their own electric bikes. Day 1: Watch the sunrise at Lucun viewing platform — South Gate of Hongcun — Wujiao Jiu Aesthetic Museum Check the sunrise time the day before and arrive at Lucun viewing platform before 6:30. Since we didn’t get an electric bike, we stopped a local villager’s car on the road and paid 10 yuan per person to get to Lucun. Actually, in Hongcun, if you don’t want to walk too much, you can just hail a car; many locals are willing to give rides. Be sure to go to the viewing platform early; during peak season, it’s packed with people.
