Jiaoxi Chuan Tang Spring Flagship Hotel--Indoor leisure and a new chill experience

The highlight of this trip to Yilan was Jiaoxi. Initially, I planned to visit other attractions on the second day, but a typhoon hit, canceling all outdoor activities. Fortunately, I chose to stay at the Jiaoxi Chuan Tang Spring Flagship Hotel, which kept me entertained throughout the typhoon! The hotel is conveniently located in the main hot spring area, about a 10-minute drive from Jiaoxi Train Station. There are plenty of local snacks and souvenir shops nearby, making it easy to find food. However, staying in the hotel for a day is equally rewarding—there are both indoor and outdoor hot spring pools to choose from, so you don't have to worry about rain or cold weather. The best part was that my room had a direct view of the Pacific Ocean. Although the typhoon brought heavy rain and fog, obscuring the sea view, soaking in the hot spring while listening to the rain was just as relaxing. The room was well-equipped with a massage chair, a coffee machine, and complimentary drinks (Coke, Sprite, sports drinks). After a hot spring bath, enjoying a cup of coffee in the room was pure bliss. Breakfast is highly recommended! It’s available from 8 AM to 1 PM, so there’s no rush even if you sleep in. There’s also a DIY snack area where you can make your own rice balls and wraps, adding a fun activity to the meal—perfect for laid-back travelers like me. The staff were very attentive, even reminding guests to stay safe during the typhoon. Nearby, you can visit Jiaoxi Hot Spring Park, and if the weather is good, head to Tangweigou Park for a foot bath. For shopping, there are plenty of local specialty stores. Jiaoxi is ideal for a lazy trip; you don’t need to travel far, and chilling around the hotel is more than enough. Booking tips: The Chuan Tang Spring Flagship Hotel tends to be fully booked during peak seasons and holidays, so it’s best to reserve one to two months in advance. Opt for a sea-view or high-floor room for a better experience. Yilan often experiences typhoons in summer, so check the weather forecast before booking and have a backup plan for outdoor activities.
