Millennium Ancient Temple - Dafo Temple

Location: Located in Dafo Temple Lane, Ganzhou District, Zhangye City, Gansu Province, the geographical location is easy to find. History: This temple has a long history, dating back to the first year of Yong'an in the Western Xia Dynasty (1098), nearly a thousand years ago! Walking through it is like traveling through time and space, feeling the traces of history left on every brick and stone, and every Buddha statue. It is an important historical site on the Silk Road, bearing the memory of cultural exchanges between the East and the West in ancient times. Wonder: The most amazing thing in the temple is the huge reclining Buddha. When you walk into the Great Buddha Hall and see the reclining Buddha for the first time, the shock is really beyond words. The Great Buddha sleeps there, with a peaceful expression, 34.5 meters long and 7.5 meters wide, and its ears alone are more than 2 meters long. The Buddha statue is well-proportioned, beautifully shaped, and the details show the superb skills of ancient craftsmen. There are also many colored sculptures such as the ten disciples and the eighteen arhats around the reclining Buddha, each of which is lifelike, as if guarding the Great Buddha. Architecture: The architectural style of Dafo Temple is also unique. The entire temple is well laid out and the halls are magnificent. From the simple mountain gate to the solemn Great Buddha Hall, to other auxiliary halls, red walls and green tiles, flying eaves and bucket arches, every place shows the elegance of traditional architecture. The wooden structure of the building exudes a simple atmosphere, and the sunlight shines on it, with mottled light and shadow, like a natural picture.
