The first provincial capital city museum in the country to offer free admission

It is one of the first batch of national first-class museums, with nearly 60,000 cultural relics in its collection, including more than 20 categories such as pottery, porcelain, and bronzes. It is particularly known for its Neolithic pottery, Shang and Zhou dynasty bronzes, Tang and Song dynasty stone carvings, and porcelain from various dynasties, all of which are highly characteristic of the Central Plains region's historical and cultural features. The basic exhibition 'Zhengzhou General History Exhibition' comprehensively displays the historical development of Zhengzhou, from the Paleolithic Age to the modern era; the thematic exhibitions are divided into two categories: cultural relics exhibitions and cultural exhibitions. There are two Zhengzhou Museums, the old one on Songshan Road (now converted into the South-to-North Water Diversion Museum) and the new one on Wenhan Street, which is the main venue located next to the Citizen Activity Center, surrounded by Zhengzhou Grand Theater, Art Museum, Cultural Exchange Center, Olympic Sports Center, Broadcasting Center, and Botanical Garden. Metro Line 6 passes in front of the museum, and there is a free parking lot, making it convenient to reach by car from the city center via the Longhai Expressway. Compared to the crowded Henan Museum, it is relatively easier to make a reservation. A special reminder: Zhengzhou Museum is closed on Tuesdays and open as usual on Mondays! If you encounter other museums closed on Mondays, you can visit at an off-peak time.
