But Durrës is also that strange place, where often in the nets of ships remain jars, amphorae, bricks and ancient tiles, like those found on the walls of the City Castle. Durrës was founded as a colony by Corinth in 637 BC, on the basis of an Illyrian pre-urban culture, and even the name of the pre-Greek king called Epidamnus is preserved. #tripaway One of the destinations that in recent years has had a significant increase in the number of tourists is Cape Rodoni, located just a few kilometers from Tirana. This high peninsula-shaped strip of land stretches across the Adriatic Sea and offers attractive landscapes as well as several historical and cultural monuments of special importance. If during the spring the Cape starts and wears it all from a fairytale flower carpet, during the summer not a few are the ones who choose this place because of the virgin beach and the clean and fine sand. Skanderbeg Castle The cape, which is surrounded by living shrines about 25 meters high, is also known for Skanderbeg Castle. The castle located right by the sea was built by Skanderbeg around 1450 - 1452, in order to have a faster exit to the Adriatic in case of an Ottoman conquest. According to a treaty signed on February 4, 1462, in case of war with the Turks Ragusa would help Skenderbeu with its fleet that would be sent exactly to Rodon. According to Barletti's manuscripts, this castle existed until 1467, before the Turks came and destroyed it. The Venetians rebuilt the castle after 1500, and this has enabled it to arrive to this day in fairly good condition. Church of St. Anthony Very close to the Cape is the Church of St. Anthony, a monument that historically belongs to the same period of construction as that of the Castle. This building has a Romanesque-Gothic type of architecture, and today you can see traces of frescoes and other interesting elements. Thanks to the positioning near the Cape and the sea, the views that accompany the Church are truly impressive. The town of Durres is the main town on the coast and probably the best in the region for sunbathing, 5* resorts and beautiful sunsets. We stayed at this hotel with friends for the first time, and the experience was fantastic! The hotel is located right on the beachfront, with a stunning reef and a short pier. The beach is shared with the White Hills Hotel. There are pools on the property, which are heated and spacious, and sun loungers are always available. 🙌 The food was delicious, and you can choose from various restaurants, including Italian, Egyptian, and international options. The animation team was lively, offering activities from morning till evening, capped off with different parties. We enjoyed a fun foam party during the day and an amazing big pool party at night. Around the hotel, you can take a stroll to shop or walk to Soho Square, which is just a 10-15 minute leisurely walk. To sum up, the hotel is beautiful and compact, perfect for a party vibe with DJs playing music often. It's ideal for those seeking an active, fun-filled vacation. For those who prefer peace and quiet, there's an upper pool where activities are not held, usually offering a more relaxed atmosphere. We absolutely loved the hotel 👍🏻👍🏻, and the friendliest animator, Karina, was simply amazing!

The White Hills Hotel is wonderful! The grounds are compact but very well-maintained, and I loved the abundance of blooming plants. The interior and architectural design follow a uniform style without any visual clutter. The beach is clean, the sea is warm, and the fish are colorful. There are plenty of loungers for all guests. The waitstaff and bartenders are attentive. The animation team is outstanding—young, energetic, and polite. Evening programs at the hotel and Tal Avenue are vibrant, especially the spectacular dance performances.

We stayed at White Hills hotel as a large group and had a great time. The hotel grounds are beautifully maintained, with plenty of greenery. The beach is cozy, offering convenient access to the sea via stairs, with a stunning reef that made exploring the underwater world a joy—be sure to bring masks. The pools were a highlight, warm and not crowded, as many rooms have private pools. The rooms are stylish and thoughtfully designed, equipped with essentials like towels, robes, slippers, a hairdryer, and other useful items. The fridge was always stocked with drinks. The food was diverse and delicious, though the dining area lacked enough tables, and we often had to search for a spot. Alcohol options included local selections, with imported drinks available at a second-floor bar after 6 PM. We didn't connect with the staff right away, but a wonderful and attentive employee, Aru, made our stay special. She was incredibly helpful and resolved all our issues—huge thanks to her from all of us! The hotel also offers animation activities; we loved the stylish ballet shows and the awesome DJ. While there were daytime events, we didn’t attend them. Despite a few minor drawbacks, we highly recommend this hotel for a great vacation.

If you want to come to Albania please do it!! The atmosphere is amazing and the people are so friendly, I went with my mum for her birthday for a couple of days, in this time I explored the beach l stayed at this hotel and the staff were beyond excellent and really friendly and welcoming, the shops are about 10-15 minutes from the hotel and the bus is located station is located next to the round about near this art art work. we took the bus to durres which again is stunning and the sea view is amazing, also if you have kids and they like KFC with a view then you will find this in durres, many food places, the steak house looked amazing which I will try next time I book. transport is very cheap on public transport if you don’t mind travelling by bus which was 100 leke so £1 English and we also went to Tirana which was 200 leke £2, but if you want taxis are available but are more expensive, if you like history there is lots of statues and a churches and castle like buildings overall amazing experience, already wanting to go back and explore more #travel2026 #beachlife
