We traveled to Mallorca for the first time and spent a wonderful week at Sa Galera in late August 2026. Everything was simply perfect, and we can wholeheartedly recommend Sa Galera for a finca hotel vacation. We were especially impressed by the friendliness of the staff, the exclusive hotel grounds, the delightful breakfast on the terrace, the peaceful location of the lush property with its beautiful pool area, the excellent amenities of our suite, and the proximity to Santanyi and the coves along the southeastern coast.

The hotel has great potential as a solid four-star property. On arrival, it is visually appealing with lovely aesthetics, though one entrance felt mismatched with the modern design. Similarly, the holiday corridors appeared outdated compared to the stylish ground floor. Check-in was quick and helpful, with staff providing maps and local info. My first room felt unprepared for guests. Shelves were missing in the wardrobe, and the safe wasn’t secured. After reporting this, the reception relocated me to a better room the next day. While the second room was an improvement, minor things like additional toiletries were still missing. Also, you only receive two water bottles for your entire stay—unusual for a four-star standard, as daily water replenishment should be a basic amenity. Housekeeping quality varied; some days the cleaning was thorough, while other days it seemed limited to tidying the bed. I opted for half board, and the food was enjoyable with plenty of choices for breakfast and dinner. There were no queues, but drink options were limited to water from the machine, with no other drinks offered for purchase. The main pool area was well-maintained, with sunbeds always available no matter the time of day. Entertainment, like the saxophonist and DJ, was pleasant and not intrusive. My only issue was that it opened late at 10 a.m. The rooftop pool boasted stunning views but wasn’t functional as a pool, with just two beanbags available for lounging. The courtesy room on my last day left much to be desired. Located in a social club across the street, it was dark, dirty, and unkempt, which was disappointing. On a positive note, the hotel's location is fantastic—situated in a quiet area, it’s just a five-minute walk to additional restaurants and the harbor, and a 10-minute walk to the gorgeous Cala Marçal beach. I would consider staying here again, but there’s definitely room for improvement to match four-star expectations.

The location is exceptional, situated atop a mountain offering breathtaking 360-degree views (we were lucky to witness the total eclipse on August 12 from here). The room was simple but clean, spacious enough for two, and equipped with very comfortable bedding. Despite the warm weather and the lack of air conditioning, we slept wonderfully during our 3-night stay. Highly recommended.

The location is fantastic, just a 5-minute walk to the beautiful Cala Marcal beach, which I found much nicer and larger than Cala d'Or. It's a lovely, quiet area with no noise at night, making it ideal for families. The pool is great for all ages, with a 2m deep end and nice shallow areas too. The gym is excellent, offering weights and cardio machines, and the indoor pool is stunning. Breakfast was perfect, a solid 10/10, but the dinner buffet was average—lacking some meat options on the hot plate, with overcooked meats and missing fresh vegetables. Lunch at the pool bar was disappointing—everything seemed like frozen food, and I would avoid it. Also, water at dinner felt overpriced. The cleanliness of the hotel was exceptional at all times, and the staff were incredible—helpful, friendly, and full of great advice. They even helped us explore another local beach via a free bus that stops right outside the hotel. The bus stop is very convenient, and there are lovely, mostly flat walking and running paths leading to the other beach (S’Arenal) with a 6.5k round trip back to the hotel. The air conditioning in the room was fantastic, and the family rooms are well-designed with sliding door setups. Overall, this hotel is outstanding, with an amazing staff. Thank you for such a great experience—we’ll definitely return!

An impressive castle perched high on a mountain. While not much is left of the structure, it still leaves a strong impression. The sheer effort of transporting all the stones and materials up the mountain to build it is simply unbelievable. The view is sensational—you can see in all four directions, offering spectacular scenery. The drive up is a bit winding on a narrow road, but it’s still worth it. We paid 5 euros per person, and it’s absolutely worth the price. If you love history and breathtaking views, this is the perfect spot for you.

A very beautiful beach with turquoise waters that truly deserves its five stars. The restaurant is of good quality. The only downside is that you need to arrive very early in the morning to secure a sunbed, and the parking area is not very large. We will gladly return. A cove not to be missed!

The Wyndham is a partially renovated hotel that has enhanced some features but still has a few specific issues unresolved. Pros: Sections 1, 2, and 3 have been remodeled, offering modernized rooms equipped with a fridge, dishwasher, microwave, and all cooking essentials. The beds are huge and very comfortable. The reception staff is extremely friendly. Cala Marçal beach is less than 200 meters away. Conveniently located near supermarkets and beach shops. The gym is quite complete. Cons: There are no elevators to transport luggage to upper floors. Parking isn’t sufficient for all guests as anyone visiting the beach can also park their car. The pool closes inexplicably at 7 PM even during summer. A sewer odor comes from the bathroom, requiring guests to keep the door shut at all times. Poor soundproofing means you can hear noise from all sides. Overall, with minor adjustments like access control, unclogging pipes, or installing at least one elevator per building, the hotel’s already good quality could be significantly improved. Despite the inconveniences, I still recommend it and would return, though these issues shouldn’t be overlooked.

Such a beautiful location! We stayed at the hotel for two weeks and had an amazing time. The staff were friendly and helpful, especially the bar staff and waitresses. The location is breathtaking. There were plenty of sun loungers available, offering views of either the sea or the pool. We opted for sea views, and beds were always readily available. The room was great; even the standard room was spacious. Above all, the beds were incredibly comfortable, just like ours at home—resulting in great sleep. Some reviews mentioned thin walls, but the only noise we noticed was in the bathroom. The direct steps into the sea were fantastic, though it's worth being careful as they can be slippery when climbing out. Bring along bread and snorkels—the fish are spectacular! An added bonus was the hotel cat, Timmy 🐈. A few tips: Bring your own towels, as the hotel charges 1 euro per towel per day. We brought old ones and left them behind. You can skip using the safe, as it's an extra cost. Be aware of the holiday tax at check-in, which was 48 euros for two people for two weeks—quite manageable but good to remember. Watch out for seagulls; they're quite cheeky and may steal food left unattended 😂. If you have the chance, try the Starfish boat trip—it’s an incredible day of shopping, swimming, and dolphin watching for 60 euros. We also loved canoeing on the local beach, which ended up being one of our favorite experiences. The pool was wonderful, and we swam every morning before 10 AM when there was no lifeguard yet. There are two local markets: one in Portocolom on Tuesdays and a larger one in Felanitx on Sundays accessible via the 512 bus. In the evenings, we preferred sitting near the sea, but entertainment was available for those who wanted more liveliness, and it was quite enjoyable. If you visit the gym, you'll be treated to great views. Cons: The vegetarian food options were mixed. While the salads were good, the main courses felt like side dishes rather than complete meals. Also, while the rooms and reception areas were spotless, we noticed some untidiness in the outdoor spaces. This contradicted other reviews and might have been an off week. These negatives, however, are minor compared to the overall experience. I still rate the hotel five stars and would absolutely visit again! 👍

This is a lovely and fascinating little nature experience. I walked along the outside of the cliff to get there, though you can also take a path right after house number 9. Renting a kayak or SUP lets you view the rock arch from the water as well.

We had an amazing holiday at JS Portocolom Suites! This hotel is truly great for families with kids. The swimming pool was a big hit with our children. There were always enough sunbeds available, so there was no need to reserve one with a towel. This created a very relaxing atmosphere. The food was excellent. Both breakfast and dinner offered a wide variety, with fresh dishes every day and, of course, delicious desserts. There was something yummy for everyone. The rooms are spacious and practically designed. We really appreciated the separate bedroom for the kids. Staying on the sixth floor, we enjoyed a large balcony with a lovely view. The service also deserves praise. Both the reception and restaurant staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Renting towels was very convenient, and there was always plenty of parking space for our rental car. The location is perfect too. The beautiful Cala Marçal beach is within walking distance, as well as charming boutiques and cozy terraces. A must-try for coffee is Cafè Forn Sa Bassa Nova, along with their delicious fresh ensaïmadas. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our vacation. A pleasant, clean, and welcoming hotel that we’ll fondly remember. We would definitely return!

While planning a family holiday to Cala D'or, I wanted to try cycling again as I’ve recently gotten back into it. I was thrilled to find Two Fine Wheels nearby, offering a great selection of bikes and equipment. After checking some route ideas on the usual apps and their site, I decided on a trip from Cala D'or to S'horta, then Puig de Sant Salvador, returning via Felanitx and Es Carritxó. Browsing their extensive bike list, I chose an e-gravel bike, perfect for the terrain and the uphill journey. The bike price for a full day, along with helmet, lock, and water bottle, was extremely reasonable. The staff at the shop gave a warm welcome, shared useful advice, and explained the deposit policy tied to higher-end bikes, which I had overlooked earlier. The shop hours suited my schedule: open at 9am, closed between 2-4pm, and reopened until 6pm. The bike itself was fantastic, with five modes. I mostly used off/eco for the flatter areas but found the route to the summit totally breathtaking—mainly safe farm roads leading to a steep hill climb. I rode cautiously on the windy roads near the top and was rewarded with stunning views from the monument and historic church, which is a must-see. The onsite café offered a lovely spot for refreshments. After a stop in Felanitx, I returned via Es Carritxó, although I wouldn’t recommend this route because of the miles-long highway with no cycle path—it felt safer when I got back near the S'horta farm track. I returned the bike on time, and the check-in process was simple. My deposit was quickly refunded without hassle. The service was fantastic, and the cycling was the highlight of my holiday. Highly recommended!

A stunning bay with a fantastic sandy beach, crystal-clear, very calm waters, excellent loungers, large umbrellas, and top-notch dining options! (Make sure to arrive by 9 a.m. if you want a lounger and umbrella!!!)

The cove is a 5-star spot in the morning, but it drops to a 2-3 rating when it starts getting crowded, especially as it fills up with plastic and other trash, likely coming from the numerous boats in the area. It's a shame because the cove itself is truly extraordinary. I can only imagine how amazing it must be during April and May.

Lovely hotel, traditional, very peaceful and relaxing. It was nice to have basic toiletries provided. Set in the countryside, the only sounds were those of birds and bugs. The poolside was a pleasant spot to lounge in the gardens. The spa was wonderful—clean, modern, with towels and robes included. The only drawback was the absence of a coffee/tea-making facility in the room, though it did have a fridge. While it may feel a bit remote for some, this was not an issue for me.

Situated on the outskirts of Portocolom, this spot is definitely worth a visit—especially since it's free to enter. It offers a glimpse into the lives of our ancient ancestors through archaeological remains. The site isn’t very large, so you can easily explore it and read all the informational signs in a short amount of time. I was the only visitor there, which made me feel disappointed that more people don’t seem to make the effort to come. While the value of such a place is priceless, I’m giving it less than 5 stars because it isn’t as well-maintained as it deserves to be to properly honor and showcase the heritage.

Had a wonderful time here, such a chilled and relaxing hotel. The staff are amazing, all very friendly and happy. I chatted with many guests who are regulars, and I’ll definitely become one too. For adults, you can’t go wrong. The food was just right—not a huge selection but focused on quality over quantity, with good vegetarian and gluten-free options. The local marina is quiet and not touristy, offering a picturesque Spanish harbor with a few restaurants. The nearest beach, Marcel, is only a five-minute walk, but I recommend going a bit further to Cala Brafi—a stunning, unspoiled cove. Thank you, JS Cape Colom, for a fantastic getaway.

It was a fantastic riding holiday. The care for the horses is excellent, and the entire facility is designed with great attention to detail. Thanks to the property's vegetable and fruit cultivation, guests can even enjoy freshly prepared meals. The food is outstanding. I would highly recommend it for those seeking peace and relaxation.

A beautiful boutique hotel set in an exotic garden, run by Germans. Very lovely rooms, spacious, with a large balcony-terrace offering views of the pool and mountains. Excellent breakfast. Huge pool and free parking. The bedding was a bit too soft for my taste, but it won't stop me from coming back! Wonderful experience. Thank you for the warm hospitality!

Amazing location and stunning views. The road leading up is in good condition and not as challenging as some reviews suggest; its surface is great, you just need to take it slow. The staff were helpful and polite. Stayed on a half-board basis. Breakfast was excellent with a selection of fruit, meats, and hams. The evening meal, while quite basic, was adequate—don’t expect restaurant-quality dishes. Watching the sunset was breathtaking, and a short trip up to the cross/viewpoint is definitely worth it for the view.

The view over the eastern island is absolutely stunning. This former monastery, in addition to the main building, features two major landmarks: a large stone cross perched on a cliff away from the monastery, and a colossal 30-meter statue of Jesus atop a pillar on the same cliff as the monastery. Inside, you'll find a restroom, a vending machine for chilled drinks, and a small hostel. There also seems to be a café or restaurant, though we didn’t visit it. You can walk around and enjoy the scenery, but my husband and I struggled to fully appreciate it due to the dizzying heights—we nearly panicked. While we’ve handled places like the Eiffel Tower with only mild vertigo, this was on a completely different level. I wouldn’t recommend it for kids under six years old. The journey up was incredibly nerve-racking. As a family of six, we used a minivan and, thankfully, the road was almost empty. I can’t imagine handling oncoming traffic here. The drive is full of tight curves, and we stayed in second gear the entire way. Ensure your brakes are in top condition, because while the climb is stressful, the descent is exponentially worse.

We spent the weekend, and it was fantastic. The staff's attention was excellent; they were very friendly. The room was spacious, surrounded by nature, very clean, with a large bathroom and a very comfortable bed. The place itself is beautiful, with gardens and surrounded by wooded areas. We loved it and highly recommend it.

I stayed there for 4 nights as part of a yoga retreat. The rooms were very clean and simple. The vegetarian full board was delicious! The staff was extremely kind. During the day, the monastery attracts many cyclists and tourists, but in the early mornings and evenings, it becomes peaceful and quiet. The 360° panoramic view is absolutely stunning!

Plenty of facilities - toilets, popular beach bar, lifeguard, sea sports and sunbeds and a jolly fruiterer complete with wheelbarrow selling everything from coconuts to pineapples. Lovely way to while away the day topping up your tan. Very nice sand Cala, large, clean and easily accessible with children. The water is clear. Possibility to rent sunbeds, pedal boats and paddle boats. There's a shower. A restaurant. Beach volleyball court. We went there several times and always found room near the water to watch the children. The water was warm. I recommend. Like the pictures if you enjoy them! #falladventures #travel #familytravel Great viewpoint! By car the serpentine road with really sharp bends up. We were on our way-nothing at about 17h. On the way down a little more. Surely very exciting when there are buses on the way. At the top you have a wonderful view towards the sea and over the island. There's a restaurant. Tip: Drive in the morning if you want to see over the island; in the afternoon, the sun is in the west, where the sun is known to set; therefore virtually no visibility, there is visibility against the sun. Above, visit the monastery and church. Other visitors threw money into a vending machine: Music from the tape began ,and the lights on the altar came on alternately. It's a matter of taste. If you come in on the right is a crib, children have two options to see in peepholes and see the Bible story (Sh. Photos). “Candles” can be lit, but these are electronic lights. Outside there is a possibility to bottle water. With us there was surprisingly little going on, parking and sightseeing were therefore no problem and almost alone possible. On the way down we stopped quite high up again to walk up to the cross. Relatively steep but nice to walk and a short distance. Like the pictures if you enjoy them! If you have any trouble checking in, just ask the restaurant staff in front of the parking lot! The views from the top of the mountain are breathtaking, from sunset to sunrise. The road is winding on the way up, so drive safely!
