A Destination Worth Traveling For
Established in 1914 on the shores of the Gulf of Saint-Tropez in the South of France, this hotel is one of the earliest Belle Époque palace-style hotels in the French Riviera. It has witnessed a century of elegance, artistic charm, and the golden age of Mediterranean vacation culture in the region. Since its closure in 2008, this period of silence has only added to its legendary allure.
On April 24, 2026, COMO Le Beauvallon will reopen its doors, unveiling a new chapter for this approximately four-hectare Mediterranean estate. COMO invites Yannick Alléno, one of the most influential chefs in France and worldwide, to comprehensively shape the hotel’s dining landscape, including his signature restaurant Beauvallon Sur Mer by Yannick Alléno. His vision will infuse the hotel with contemporary elegance, international perspective, and a spirit of exploration.
An Estate, A Legend, A New Chapter
For over a century, COMO Le Beauvallon has overlooked the Gulf of Saint-Tropez. The hotel is nestled within private gardens where stone pines and palm trees stretch all the way to the coast. At the garden’s end is a private dock, just an eight-minute boat ride from the town of Saint-Tropez. Yachts can dock directly in front of the hotel, and helicopters can land within the estate, making Beauvallon Sur Mer by Yannick Alléno accessible by sea, land, and air.
In this renovation project, COMO and Yannick Alléno invited French designer Dorothée Delaye to reimagine the interior of Beauvallon Sur Mer. Dorothée Delaye is renowned for her ability to balance historical heritage with contemporary design.
Under her interpretation, the Belle Époque style is expressed through exquisite columns, elegant wrought iron curves, wood inlays inspired by Riva yachts from the bay, and bright sunny yellows paired with serene Mediterranean blues. Each space unfolds like a painting depicting Riviera life, bathed in the light and shadow of the Mediterranean.
Yannick Alléno: Envisioning a Culinary Experience for the Entire Estate
COMO chose Yannick Alléno not for a single signature dish but for his broad vision of the overall dining concept. With 21 restaurants worldwide, Alléno is a traveler deeply versed in regional cultures and culinary concept creation.
At COMO Le Beauvallon, his creativity extends into a series of diverse yet interconnected dining experiences that accompany guests throughout their day, from morning to night. These dining venues together form a complete gastronomic picture, making COMO Le Beauvallon one of the most iconic culinary destinations on the French Riviera by summer 2026.
Beauvallon Sur Mer by Yannick Alléno, The Riviera Symbol of the Estate
Located on the coast, Beauvallon Sur Mer by Yannick Alléno offers panoramic views of Saint-Tropez and is the vibrant heart of the estate. Open to both hotel guests and the public, the space extends from a lively restaurant and lounge bar to a rooftop terrace, with a color palette dominated by sunny yellow and Mediterranean blue.
In this signature restaurant, Yannick Alléno draws inspiration from Southeast Asia, one of the world’s most important culinary regions. The deep heritage and vibrant energy of Asian cuisine meet the bright and expressive flavors of the Mediterranean here.
The cuisine presented is not fusion for fusion’s sake but a profound dialogue—respectful of tradition, rich in creativity, and imbued with the distinctive character of the Riviera coast.
Restaurant and Lounge Bar
On the ground floor, two dining areas flank the central lounge bar, accommodating over 100 guests. The bar features a DJ booth. This space is ideal for lunch gatherings and also perfect for enjoying cocktails before dinner. The overall atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, encouraging guests to share dishes and enjoy each other’s company.
The menu offers a layered flavor journey: starting with amberjack tartare paired with peanut and Thai basil ice cream, followed by sea bass sashimi marinated in white wine with green papaya Som Tum flavors.
Next comes a light transition with a clear beef broth garnished with coriander oil, followed by sweet and sour roasted poussin and tuna steak with gombo pepper sauce.
Desserts include creative offerings such as lychee black sesame caramel meringue.
Rooftop Terrace
The rooftop terrace is located on the ground floor of Beauvallon Sur Mer by Yannick Alléno’s historic rotunda and offers sweeping views of the entire Gulf of Saint-Tropez. It is designed as a “viewing space without disturbance”—somewhere between a private lounge and a shared long table. Guests can enjoy relaxed lunches, sunset aperitifs, and evening cocktails while immersed in a stylish, urban-chic musical atmosphere.
Winter Garden
At the heart of the main building, the Winter Garden holds the historical memory of this palace. The bright glass dome blurs the boundary between indoors and outdoors. The cuisine here focuses on Mediterranean dishes infused with Niçoise flavors, blending with classic French cuisine in a Belle Époque ambiance. From breakfast to dinner, the day begins here and may quietly end on the terrace overlooking the hills of Provence.
Riviera Terrace Lounge
From afternoon to dusk, the Riviera Terrace Lounge becomes the social hub of the garden. Designed by Paola Navone (Otto Studio), this outdoor lounge is nestled among lush greenery and offers expansive views of the bay. Accompanied by exquisite cocktails and light snacks, guests’ conversations continue well into the night.
COMO Le Beauvallon: An Invitation to the World
As the group’s second hotel in France after COMO Le Montrachet, at COMO Le Beauvallon, Chef Yannick Alléno and Executive Chef Adel Mannai jointly oversee the hotel’s overall dining philosophy—from the restaurant and in-room dining to the poolside terrace—ensuring a modern and refined culinary experience throughout the estate. Beauvallon Sur Mer by Yannick Alléno, the Winter Garden, and the Riviera Terrace Lounge are open to both hotel guests and outside visitors. This arrangement aims to make COMO Le Beauvallon a vibrant destination rooted locally yet open to the world.
Yannick Alléno said, “I never imagined I would be so deeply moved by this place. This bay, the light here, and the history carried by this palace that has been dormant for nearly twenty years all give me a real and profound sense of responsibility. Now with 21 restaurants worldwide, travel remains at the core of each one. COMO Le Beauvallon itself will become a destination worth traveling for.”
COMO Holdings CEO Olivier Jolivet stated, “The rebirth of COMO Le Beauvallon fully reflects our development vision in France: to revitalize iconic locations and reinterpret the hotel experience with a contemporary perspective. This development will continue with the opening of COMO Cordeillan-Bages in Bordeaux. Our collaboration with Yannick Alléno is a significant milestone for the group. As one of the world’s most prestigious Michelin-starred chefs, his international vision and unique creativity elevate COMO Le Beauvallon beyond the traditional hotel definition to become a true culinary destination.”
