All Moments About Gua Musang
The second largest flower in the world
A half day trek into the Lojing forest area to see the Rafflesia Kerrii in its various flowering stages. These flowers are protected by the local indigenous people, the Temiars whom Moonriver Lodge engages directly as part of working with the local community.
Thank god it was a beautiful day and the trek was successful! The trek is suitable for kids too! It was amazing to finally see something rare in real life and not just in a science textbook. We were only able to spot 1 in full bloom. They only last a few days after blooming and take months to grow. They gave out a faint unpleasant smell.
Engage Moonriver Lodge for a farm stay and trek for an awesome #weekendgetaways

Zixia Cave with good Feng Shui ⛰️
📍 Zixia Cave, Pulay New Village, Gua Musang
During the British colonial era, Malaysia introduced a large number of ethnic Chinese, commonly known as Nanyang Chinese. Most Nanyang Chinese will build temples wherever they live, especially in rural areas. Farmers will go to temples to worship gods and pray for a smooth harvest.
🌾 The stalactites in Zixia Cave are unique, and the treasure of the temple is a stalactite Guanyin Bodhisattva statue located at the highest point of the cave. Looking out over the endless rubber gardens, durian gardens and other gardens in Bulai New Village, it is full of spirituality.

Train to East Coast 🚞🚂
📍KTM Station Gua Musang
🚂 The only railway route to the East Coast in Peninsular Malaysia - Southbound ↔️ Eastbound. The Southeastern Line departs from Gemas Station in Negeri Sembilan and travels from the plains to one of the oldest tropical rainforests in the world. The railway will cross the central mountains of Peninsular Malaysia. It was night when it started and the scenery outside the window could not be seen clearly, but by sunrise When I was there, I looked out the window and saw that the fog and the forest merged into one, like a fairyland.
🛌️ The Southeast Line passes through 60 stations. This trip chose to go to Gua Musang, the hometown of the Musang King. The journey took about 8 hours, so I chose a sleeper, which was a good experience.

Slow-paced Gua Musang
# Gua Musang #guamusang #tasik #湖View #湖side
Gua Musang is a city suitable for slow travel. The pace here is very slow. The locals spend their time living slowly, and the pace is slow, which is in sharp contrast with the hustle and bustle of the city.
⛲️ There is a lakeside park in the center of Gua Musang. It is a place where you can view the surrounding scenery 360 degrees, overlooking the granite mountains in the distance, and the tropical rainforest up close. It is very leisurely to integrate and contact with nature.

What a gorgeous ancient temple!
📬 18300 Gua Musang, Kelantan
Shui Yue Temple is the patron saint temple of the town of Gua Musang Pulai. About 600 years ago, descendants of Chinese people settled in Bray Town, and most of the residents are engaged in farming as their main occupation. Whenever there is a birthday or festival of a god, villagers will come to Shuiyue Palace to worship and pray for the god’s blessing and a good harvest of crops.
The temple faces granite and there is a river in front of it, which is really good for the weather and water. The square in front of the temple is very open. Standing in the square, you will feel very spacious and relaxed! The kids from the neighborhood came out to play after class, and they looked so happy against the backdrop of the blue sky and white clouds!

Step into the 60s at Taman D'Tasik
#malaysia
Upon stumbling upon Taman D'Tasik restaurant, I was instantly whisked away to the 60s, a time woven into its very décor. Antique treasures adorned the space, narrating tales of the past. Prominent among them were 30 meticulously crafted kangkung flower plates and three weathered crocodile tail saw blades, each holding a slice of history. The ambiance was further enriched by vintage rubber processing tools and aged drinks bottles, each piece a relic of a bygone era. Knowing that the owner's wife had a penchant for recycling and collecting old stuff added another layer of appreciation for this glimpse into a world long past, letting me savor a moment drenched in the allure of yesteryears.

Ninety percent of Kelantan's population is Muslim, so Muslim restaurants can be found everywhere.
🍴Gua Musang is in Kelantan, about two hours’ drive from the capital. When you come to Gua Musang town, most of the restaurants are halal restaurants. Alief Maju Curry House is one of them. The restaurant is located next to the interstate and has ample parking in front of the door. I ordered a serving of sardine pancakes, which were made to order and came with a hot sizzling sound.

Take a walk through Bulai New Village 🏡🏘️
📍 Pulai, 18300 Gua Musang, Kelantan
🏘️🏡 Leaving the bustling city, we drove to a small village in the Central Trunk Mountains - Bulai New Village. Wandering along the village roads, I met friendly and welcoming residents. Listening to them telling stories and history of the village, I learned that Bu Lai New Village had already been settled by people in the late 15th century, most of whom were Hakka Chinese.
There is a newly renovated Shuiyue Palace in the village. In the Shuiyue Palace Square, children who had just finished school were playing happily. There was a river in front of the square and a large jungle in front, and the scenery was pleasant.
