In the heart of Sussex, the Loxwood Joust whisks you back to the 15th century with clashing knights, roaring crowds, and ale flowing in the market square. Wander through artisan stalls, feast on spit-roast meats, and watch daring sword fights unfold before your eyes. Costumed performers breathe life into history, while jesters and minstrels keep the mood lively between jousts. Children try their hand at archery, adults sample rich honey mead, and everyone leaves with a grin. More than a show, it’s an immersive portal to a time of honour, rivalry, and revelry — and a perfect summer day out for history lovers and curious wanderers alike. 🕰️The Loxwood Joust is held every year over the first three weekends in August, and you can either go for the day or camp on site for the weekend. 📍The nearest train station is Horsham, and you can pay a small fee for a shuttle bus to take you to the station and back, alternatively you can park in the field on site. #england #medieval #festival #renaissance #horses #falconry #crafts #countryside #postandearn
