Paseo de Santiago is a privately owned property located at Barangay Santiago, Iligan City. It opened its door several months ago but has already attracted tourists of Mindanaoans alike. The place is still in its infancy of development but I could see that the place is already very popular and always catered to a lot of visitors, mostly college students. On weekends, it is packed with families and groups of people of different ages. I’m absolutely not a morning person but this kind of beautiful scenery makes me want to jump off my bed and go outside to appreciate the beauty of Mother Nature. Luckily I just did today so I got to witness this. The falls are definitely a must see for anyone going to Iligan. Of course it pales in comparison to Maria Cristina Falls but it has its own charm being secluded from everyone. I do hope however that the stairs going down be improved further (the non-Iligan side) to prevent any injuries and improve the overall experience. The current was so strong. .both of them drowned.. its because the twin sister loved each other so much.. they both were willing to sacrifice thier lives to give way to one another.. Maria the youngest went to the falls and jumped. When Cristina found out. She also went there and jump. The man buried their bodies under falls..Maria Cristina falls.is a waterfall of the Agus River. In the Northern Mindanao region of the Philippines so they called. Twin falls. Separated by a rock at the base of the waterfalls..There are more than one story about these waterfalls but one legend says that these waterfalls appeared after the identical twins, Maria and Cristina were bathing in the Agus River. Maria, the younger twin, was carried by the current. Cristina tried to save her sister, but the current was so strong that both of them drowned. People were amazed when a beautiful twin waterfalls came about from were the sisters perished. And everyone called it Maria Cristina. This legendary waterfalls is the outlet of Lake Lanao through Agus River. It is sometimes called the "twin falls" as the flow is separated by a rock at the brink of the waterfall.
