One of the most anticipated transportation experiences during my visit to Kyushu, Japan, was taking the popular sightseeing train "Yufuin-no-Mori" from Hakata to Yufuin and Beppu in Oita Prefecture. The booking process for this train is actually very simple. I selected the departure time and seat through the official website of JR Kyushu, and received a confirmation email after payment. After boarding the Yufuin-no-Mori train, the atmosphere in the entire carriage made me feel very relaxed. The interior of the train has a strong European and elegant style. There are many pictures of Yufuin scenery and some exquisite details on the decoration. Walking in it feels like walking in the forest. The overall atmosphere makes people feel very comfortable. There are many facilities on the train and a variety of meals are provided to make the ride more enriching. I specially ordered the "Yufuin Wheeled Rice" for 1,000 yen (tax included). The portion was generous and the taste was quite delicious, which made me even happier when I enjoyed it in the car. Overall, the ride on the Yufuin Forest was very pleasant. Whether it was the comfortable carriage or the beautiful scenery outside the window, this trip was full of memories. Driving from Fukuoka to Kurokawa Onsen, passing through Oguni Town, I accidentally found a popular soba noodle restaurant #手打そば優心. Although it is a rural area, it has good business. If you don't make an appointment, you have to wait for half an hour. I wandered around nearby. While visiting, I unexpectedly visited the #Oguni Shrine with its towering ancient trees, and the #Keyaki Water Source along the Sakura River. The shop of Shouda Soba Youxin is very Zen-like, decorated with a row of wooden fences. Inside is an L-shaped workbench. Sitting in the tatami seating area, you can watch the noodle cooking process up close, from rolling the noodles, putting them in the pot, chilling them, adding ingredients, The chef's skillful plating is really brilliant and interesting. We ordered a tempura set and a beef rice bowl. The cold buckwheat noodles were served in a bamboo sieve and dipped in the sauce. They were smooth and slurpy. The tempura was fried crispy and delicious, and the beef was roasted tender and juicy. The soba cold noodles were a real treat. Another bowl was duck soba noodles in soup, which was lush and green, with a sweet soup and tender duck meat; I also ordered a portion of tamagoyaki in soup, which was a warm egg roll with rich soup, very delicious. Stepping into Huis Ten Bosch at the northern end of Omura Bay, the scenery is magnificent and slightly exotic. Huis Ten Bosch is named after one of the three official residences of the Dutch royal family and is a replica of a Dutch town. Huis Ten Bosch Resort and Theme Park is a place worth visiting. Arriving at the shore of Huis Ten Bosch, it feels like being in a foreign country, with windmills, tulips, Dutch-style buildings and amazing lights everywhere. There are playgrounds, shops, cinemas and restaurants on both sides of the street, waiting for your exploration. If you want a special experience, you can take a boat tour along the park's river and feel like you are in Amsterdam. In addition to the observation tower, there are other novel ways to overlook the entire resort. You can experience a 20-meter-high bungee jump above the Art Garden and get a whole new perspective on the park from an upside-down perspective. The resort is divided into two areas: the theme park area and the harbor area. Both areas have free attractions and paid attractions, with most of the attractions located in the theme park area. Regular tickets give you access to both areas, but you can also buy a separate ticket for cheaper entry to the harbour area only. (Because my teammate was having his birthday on that day, I bought two tickets online during the train trip as a gift for my friend.) Tips: If a passenger enters the venue on his/her birthday, he/she will receive a birthday sticker and a free drink. Huis Ten Bosch has multiple JR train services between Hakata (Fukuoka) and Nagasaki. Most trains are limited express and most trains from Hakata require a transfer at nearby Hayaki Station, so expect the journey to take up to 110 minutes. Kyushu Natural Zoo ~ Must-See Attractions in Kyushu Just a year ago, I visited Jiuzhou Nature Zoo in March 2020 and bought my tickets and animal tickets in advance. There is an animal cart every half hour, you can arrive at the station at the right time to wait for the bus, a carriage can seat about 20 people, each group of people will be allocated a pot of food for feeding animals. There will be staff in the car to introduce in Japanese throughout the process. If you don't know how to listen to Japan, you can know which food for the animal to eat by looking at the instructions on hand. The tour takes about 30-45 minutes. After getting off, you can interact with the small animals at the zoo in the park. There are also several restaurants in the park to treat the stomach, we chose a small Honya-shaped Western restaurant, which tasted good and was reasonably priced. The 11-day trip to Tokyo and Kyushu ended successfully🥰😘😍 On the last day in Tokyo, I went to the Shisui premium outlet shopping street near Narita Airport at noon, bought running shoes and had an Oyakodon, and saw beautiful flowers 🌺 before leaving the airport! There are observation decks at Japanese airports where you can watch planes taking off and landing. Don’t miss it! Narita Airport is so big with souvenir shops and restaurants. A one-day tour of Gundam eel rice in Fukuoka, Senbon hydrangeas in the rain in Kurume, searching for the roots of Kumamon in Kumamoto Yashiro, missing the dolphins at Amakusa Coast, being stranded in the city due to heavy rain in Kagoshima, Sakurajima Volcano, a two-day tour of Miyazaki Dog's return home to see the Easter Island statue, the oni-shiki, Qingdao Shrine, Obi Castle, Coconut Tree and Airport, and three days of shopping and eating in Tokyo Odaiba, Gundam, Kawagoe, Koedo, Hokkaido conveyor belt sushi and ramen. The trip was very smooth and successful. Although I feel reluctant and regretful, I have no regrets. Kyushu is really a very comfortable tourist destination.
