One of the most anticipated transportation experiences during my visit to Kyushu, Japan, was taking the popular sightseeing train "Yufuin-no-Mori" from Hakata to Yufuin and Beppu in Oita Prefecture. The booking process for this train is actually very simple. I selected the departure time and seat through the official website of JR Kyushu, and received a confirmation email after payment. After boarding the Yufuin-no-Mori train, the atmosphere in the entire carriage made me feel very relaxed. The interior of the train has a strong European and elegant style. There are many pictures of Yufuin scenery and some exquisite details on the decoration. Walking in it feels like walking in the forest. The overall atmosphere makes people feel very comfortable. There are many facilities on the train and a variety of meals are provided to make the ride more enriching. I specially ordered the "Yufuin Wheeled Rice" for 1,000 yen (tax included). The portion was generous and the taste was quite delicious, which made me even happier when I enjoyed it in the car. Overall, the ride on the Yufuin Forest was very pleasant. Whether it was the comfortable carriage or the beautiful scenery outside the window, this trip was full of memories. Driving from Fukuoka to Kurokawa Onsen, passing through Oguni Town, I accidentally found a popular soba noodle restaurant #手打そば優心. Although it is a rural area, it has good business. If you don't make an appointment, you have to wait for half an hour. I wandered around nearby. While visiting, I unexpectedly visited the #Oguni Shrine with its towering ancient trees, and the #Keyaki Water Source along the Sakura River. The shop of Shouda Soba Youxin is very Zen-like, decorated with a row of wooden fences. Inside is an L-shaped workbench. Sitting in the tatami seating area, you can watch the noodle cooking process up close, from rolling the noodles, putting them in the pot, chilling them, adding ingredients, The chef's skillful plating is really brilliant and interesting. We ordered a tempura set and a beef rice bowl. The cold buckwheat noodles were served in a bamboo sieve and dipped in the sauce. They were smooth and slurpy. The tempura was fried crispy and delicious, and the beef was roasted tender and juicy. The soba cold noodles were a real treat. Another bowl was duck soba noodles in soup, which was lush and green, with a sweet soup and tender duck meat; I also ordered a portion of tamagoyaki in soup, which was a warm egg roll with rich soup, very delicious. Stepping into Huis Ten Bosch at the northern end of Omura Bay, the scenery is magnificent and slightly exotic. Huis Ten Bosch is named after one of the three official residences of the Dutch royal family and is a replica of a Dutch town. Huis Ten Bosch Resort and Theme Park is a place worth visiting. Arriving at the shore of Huis Ten Bosch, it feels like being in a foreign country, with windmills, tulips, Dutch-style buildings and amazing lights everywhere. There are playgrounds, shops, cinemas and restaurants on both sides of the street, waiting for your exploration. If you want a special experience, you can take a boat tour along the park's river and feel like you are in Amsterdam. In addition to the observation tower, there are other novel ways to overlook the entire resort. You can experience a 20-meter-high bungee jump above the Art Garden and get a whole new perspective on the park from an upside-down perspective. The resort is divided into two areas: the theme park area and the harbor area. Both areas have free attractions and paid attractions, with most of the attractions located in the theme park area. Regular tickets give you access to both areas, but you can also buy a separate ticket for cheaper entry to the harbour area only. Entering the door feels like arriving at a rest stop for the Survey Corps, making you reluctant to leave. The special cup holder that comes with ordering a drink is also very textured. At first glance, it doesn’t look like a paper cup holder, making you want to take it home as a souvenir.

#cherryblossom25 In early April, we ventured on a lovely hike along the Chikuhō • Kawara Line in Kyushu, Japan. This trail spans about 11.5 kilometers, with picturesque rural landscapes, a 522-meter elevation gain, and a 567-meter descent, taking around 5 hours to complete. The starting point, Saitō Station, boasts 103 years of history, and the train tracks are lined with cherry blossoms. Many people were gathered by the tracks, snapping photos as trains zoomed by, giving off a scene straight out of a Japanese movie. Along the way, we passed Kawara Shrine, surrounded by cherry blossoms, where kids kicked soccer balls and played under the trees while adults enjoyed leisurely picnics on the grassy lawns—a picture-perfect, warm, and happy moment. What I loved most about this outdoor adventure was how tranquil it was—few people, but the cherry blossoms were dense and wild, bursting with life. It felt raw and untamed, unlike the neatly arranged flowers you find in parks, where you often encounter crowds around every corner. This made it feel much more alive and vibrant, a truly special experience. As Qingming marks the peak of cherry blossom season, I’m lucky to have caught them in full bloom! The cherry blossoms continued to thrive, and even around Shodoshima and Shikoku Aquarium, the blossoms were still standing strong, expected to last for about another week and a half. 🌸 #naturalwonders
