Find a spring scene, and hide away a night of tenderness.
Linyi Weekend Family Trip:
This weekend, instead of a long trip, we drove with the kids to Linyi for a relaxing spring outing. Ultimately, this trip became especially meaningful and memorable because of one hotel – the Linyi Zhongwei Ronghua Hotel.
Embracing the Mountains and Fields, Encountering the Colors of Spring
Our first stop was Yimeng Yunpu Cave in Feixian County. Driving there from the city, the scenery was vibrant with spring. For us city dwellers, this was a natural playground.
The "Finger-Moving Stone" at the scenic spot was truly magical. This huge, strangely shaped rock could actually move with a gentle touch from our child. This amazing experience of "using minimal force to move a great weight" thrilled him. This place is not only a natural geological museum but also a one-stop paradise for families. The scenic area features a dedicated children's playground and the "Tianmeng Lake" cruise. The children played hide-and-seek among the giant stones, while we enjoyed the breeze under the willow trees by the lake, watching the clear, emerald-green water and feeling the mountain breeze on our faces – the fatigue from work instantly vanished.
Returning to Ronghua at Night: Warmth in the Details
In the evening, tired from playing, we drove back to the city and checked into the Ronghua Hotel, which we had booked in advance.
As soon as the car turned into the courtyard, staff guided us to park, even noticing the new energy vehicle license plate and proactively pointing out the location of the charging stations. This was a significant plus for a family traveling by car.
Although I had heard it was a "long-established" hotel and was worried about whether the facilities would be outdated, I found that my worries were unnecessary. While the rooms retained the classic star-rated hotel decor style from over a decade ago, they were extremely well-maintained, exuding the gravitas and cleanliness of a long-established hotel. What reassured me, as a "mother," the hotel's attention to hygiene was most reassuring. The bath towels and hand towels were individually wrapped, which is unusual even in five-star hotels. This completely dispelled my concerns about shared linens, making me feel very reassured using them for my child.
What surprised us even more was the hotel's hospitality. Seeing that we had a child, the staff not only proactively brought children's toothbrushes and slippers but also thoughtfully prepared small toys. When we returned to our room tired from playing in the evening, complimentary fruit and yogurt were already laid out on the table; even more surprisingly, a staff member knocked on our door at night, bringing a warm bowl of porridge. Although we weren't hungry, that bowl of hot porridge warmed our hearts—this is probably the most concrete example of "feeling at home."
The Flavors of Linyi: A Soul Awakened by Breakfast
The highlight of this trip was undoubtedly the breakfast on the second day.
The reason we chose Ronghua Hotel was largely due to online reviews praising its "extremely lavish breakfast." And it completely exceeded our expectations.
This place not only offers the standard steaks and cakes of a five-star hotel, but more importantly, it brings the most authentic local flavor of Linyi to its buffet restaurant. The freshly cooked Linyi san tang (a type of soup), with its rich broth, is poured over hot eggs and sprinkled with cilantro; the kids devoured a large bowl. There's also steaming hot Linyi fried chicken and Mengshan goat offal soup—can you imagine? Having fried chicken first thing in the morning—this kind of extravagant breakfast experience can only be found in Linyi.
The children were particularly fond of the freshly made jianbing (Chinese crepes) and the adorable dessert table. The family leisurely enjoyed this sumptuous breakfast in the morning light, gazing at the hotel courtyard view from the window; at that moment, happiness truly reached its peak.
A traveler's lament, this is also home on the journey.
After breakfast, we sat in the hotel's study; the children flipped through picture books, while we organized the photos we had taken over the past few days.
On the way back, our child fell soundly asleep in the back seat, still clutching the farewell snack the receptionist had given us. My partner and I chatted about the trip, and we both agreed: Ronghua Hotel was more than just a place to sleep; it felt like a "home" in Linyi.
It may not have the trendiest, most fashionable decor, but it won us over with its spotless cleanliness, an incredibly abundant breakfast, and heartfelt, caring service. For families traveling with children, being able to find peace of mind, a full stomach, and warmth all in one hotel is the best arrangement.
If you're also planning a trip to Linyi, whether it's to see the spectacular "National Show Langya" in Langya Ancient City or experience the millennia-old porcelain culture at Baoquan Scenic Area, Zhongwei Ronghua Hotel is definitely a worthwhile stop. For that bowl of savory soup, for that unique, old-fashioned hotel's elegance and warmth, I think we'll be back soon.
