Walking the World Series: Capital of the Republic of Congo - Brazzaville
Brazzaville is located on the north bank of the lower Congo River (Zaire River), facing Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, across the river. It is a beautiful tropical city known as the Garden City, with evergreen seasons, rows of mangoes, coconuts, and plantains, and lush green shade.
Figures 1-7 show the new landmark in Brazzaville built by Chinese construction—the Twin Towers, consisting of two towers: one is a 30-story hotel and supporting facilities, and the other is an office building. The project started in 2021, aiming to create a city landmark integrating hotel, office, conference, and entertainment functions. The towers are about 100 meters tall, connected by a podium, forming a unique urban landscape.

Figures 12-13, Charles de Gaulle Square in Brazzaville. It was built in 1961 and is located in Brazzaville, the capital of the Republic of Congo.
In the center of the square is a bronze bust of Charles de Gaulle, sculpted by G. Palio. The reliefs on both sides of the base depict the scenes of de Gaulle announcing autonomy for French African colonies in 1944 and authorizing Fulbert Youlou to establish the Republic of Congo's autonomy in 1958. Behind the bust are two murals: the left mural depicts de Gaulle commanding French troops fighting Nazi Germany, and the right mural shows de Gaulle with the Black Governor Félix Éboué.
