The turquoise wonder of Provence: Lake Castillon
Did you know that the famous Sainte-Croix Lake (which you often see in photos) is fed by this body of water?
Lac de Castillon is the gateway to the Verdon Canyon.
This photo reveals the classic Verdon landscape: rugged limestone slopes covered with lavender and green forests meet the vibrant turquoise water. This incredible color is due to limestone sediment and glacial origins.
This place is ideal for:
🚗 A scenic drive along the Route des Crêtes;
🚣 Kayaking and SUP surfing (the water warms up perfectly!);
🏕 Camping in the surrounding area (camping sites are available).
🛶 The most accessible way to connect with nature: for just 10 euros, you can rent a SUP board and enjoy an hour of pure harmony.
Imagine slowly gliding along the mirror-like surface, gazing at the reflection of the rocks in the turquoise water and hearing the chirping of cicadas. No motorboat noise, just silence and the feeling of floating over an abyss (the lake's depth reaches 100 meters in places!). This isn't just rafting; it's true meditation under the Provençal sun.

This is what I came up to see! 😍 Nice Colin Castle Viewpoint
If you have walked enough along the Nice coastline,
you should go to see the beautiful orange roofs of Nice city center
and the planes heading to Nice Airport.
From this observation deck, you can clearly feel the vastness of the Nice sea.
Watch people lapping at the waves,
and enjoy a pleasant walk while looking at the sea shining through the trees.

Lake Sainte-Croix - a natural wonder of the French Riviera.
[Introduction]: The Verdun Canyon and Lake Sainte-Croix are natural wonders in the Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur region, famous for their turquoise waters, steep cliffs and outdoor activities.
🛬【Itinerary】:
Morning: Verdun Canyon
1. Departure: ☀ Depart from the hotel in the morning to La Palud-sur-Verdon (starting point on the north side of the canyon), where there is a visitor center and a map is available 🗺
2. Sightseeing and hiking:
- Point Sublime: One of the recommended viewing platforms in the canyon, overlooking the magnificent panoramic view;
- Sentier Martel: Classic hiking route🚶 (3-4 hours). Some sections require the use of hands and feet, suitable for people with better physical strength💪. If time is limited, you can choose a short trail 🚶♂️ (such as Balcons de la Mescla)
Noon: Lake Sainte-Croix
1. Lunch and rest:
- There are restaurants in the lakeside towns of Sainte-Croix-du-Verdon or Les Salles-sur-Verdon. We recommend trying the Provencal fish soup or French sandwiches.
- Or bring your own picnic 🧺 and enjoy it on the beaches 🏖️ on the east side of the lake (such as Plage de Bauduen).
2. Water Sports
- Rent a rowing boat/pedal boat (about 15-25 euros/hour) to explore the canyon entrance. Paddles Verdon or Kayak Vert are recommended.
- Swimming: The lake water is clear and the water temperature is about 20-25℃ in summer.
Afternoon: South side of the canyon and return trip
1. Highlights on the South Side
- Aiguines town: overlooking the lake and visiting a traditional pottery workshop.
- Artuby Bridge: the highest bungee jumping location in Europe (optional experience).
2. Return trip 🚗
- Take the bus back to the hotel🏨
🧡【tips】:
- **Season**: Best from May to September, more crowded but suitable water temperature from July to August, plenty of water in spring.
- **Equipment**: sunscreen 🧴, hiking shoes 👟, swimsuit 🩱, plenty of drinking water 💧.
- **Safety**: There are no guardrails on some sections of the canyon, please wear a life jacket for water activities🦺.
- **Environmental protection**: Prohibit 🚫littering🚯 and protect the natural ecology.

French Ceramic Town
Moustiers-Sainte-Marie, often referred to as the Ceramic Town, was famous for producing a type of white glazed pottery with exquisite designs that captivated Europe for 200 years during the 17th and 18th centuries. The town is dotted with ceramic shops, serving both as the place of origin and a distribution center. In the morning, without the hustle and bustle of crowds, one can truly appreciate the charm of the Ceramic Town. Where does this charm come from? It comes from the details.

🇫🇷The best viewpoint in Nice, France: Colline du château
This observation deck is about a 15-minute walk from Vieux Nice (Old Nice), the old historical area of Nice. From the observation deck, you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of Nice and the blue sea of the Mediterranean Sea.
Colline du Château used to be a castle, but now it is a historic site. You can reach the observation deck by following the promenade, and as you go up, you can enjoy the beautiful scenery overlooking the entire city. This is also one of the best places to watch the sunset or sunrise!
