Warren Pond Bushwhack: Adirondack Spruce, No Trail, Sign the Registereasytravelpost #AdirondackHigh
#easytravelpost Warren Pond sits in the High Peaks Wilderness near Keene, NY—no fee, no parking charge, but the DEC requires signing in/out at the trail register (the Route 73 Garden lot has one; the seasonal hiker shuttle runs Marcy Field↔Garden Sat–Sun July 4–Oct 11, $10 round trip cash/check). I parked at the Garden lot (full by 7:30 a.m. on weekends), walked the Bradley Pond trail 2 mi, then bushwhacked northeast through red spruce and moss, no footbed, following a compass bearing for 1.2 mi to the pond at 2,400 ft.
The bushwhack is the point: lichen on the spruce trunks, a beaver dam at the outlet, and zero people. I filtered pond water (treat it—giardia in the Adirondacks is documented) and ate lunch on a log. Group size limit 8 for overnight; no campfires above 3,500 ft or within 150 ft of water.
Mistake: I trusted my phone GPS under the spruce canopy and it drifted 200 m—carry a paper map and compass, the canopy kills signal. Another: I wore trail runners and the moss-bog between ridges soaked them; gaiters + waterproof boots. Would you bushwhack Warren Pond as a 6 mi round-trip off-trail day, or make it a 2-night lean-to base for the surrounding ridges?

Good studio for business trip!
I had a wonderful stay. The hotel is in a really good location, very close to everything I needed restaurants, public transport were all within walking distance. The rooms were well-maintained.

First trip to France - to the Tuileries Gardens!
After arriving, I left my luggage at the hotel and arrived at the nearest station around 11:30. To get to the Louvre, I first passed through the Tuileries Gardens (Jardin des Tuileries).
Walking through this tidy French garden in the crisp winter air was a special experience.
The park is dotted with sculptures and ponds, and there are plenty of photogenic spots.
There's also a small cafe stand, so it's recommended to stroll around with a hot chocolate in hand! And there were so many birds!!! It was my first time seeing a white dove 🕊️.

Tulrich Park Christmas Market with lots to see, do and eat ❤️
#WinterTravelDestination
Reason to go to Europe in winter = Christmas Market!
There was also a market at the Tuileries Garden in Paris:)
Of course the lights were pretty, and there was a lot of food for sale
There weren't many rides, but the Ferris wheel lights were blue, red, and white, the colors of the French flag, so it was a perfect photo zone😉
Sit on the green chair in the Tuileries Garden during the day and relax, then visit the Orangerie Museum! Warm up at a nearby cafe, and visit the Christmas market when the sun goes down!
I also planned the route 🙃 You should definitely go:)
