How to get there 40 minutes by car from Sendai city There are plenty of paid parking spaces, so you can park comfortably on days when there aren't many tourists. Matsushima is one of the three scenic spots in Japan. It was the first location where the tsunami was hit by the Japanese earthquake a few years ago. Fortunately, the entire bay of Matsushima did not suffer much damage in the disaster. The nearest station is Matsushima-Kaigan Station, about a 50-minute train ride from Sendai. This area is famous for its oysters, but I didn't eat any this time due to my personal food preferences (lol) The scenery is amazing, and I think it's a place that anyone would be glad to have come to.
