💰 How to get Tax Free in China?
Before my trip, I thought getting Tax Free would be a long and complicated process.
In reality, it turned out to be much simpler. This was our first time getting a tax refund on purchases in China, and now we know exactly how it works.
📍Keep the instructions so you don't forget anything before your flight.
1️⃣ Shop at Tax Free stores
Not all stores participate in the program.
Look for the Tax Free sticker or ask the salesperson before paying. Currently, the minimum purchase amount for Tax Free in China is 200 yuan per store per day.
2️⃣ Ask for the paperwork immediately
After payment, show your passport and ask for:
✔️ receipt;
✔️ Tax Refund form.
Be sure to check that your name and passport number are correct.
3️⃣ Don't stuff your purchases too deep in your suitcase
At the airport, you may be asked to show them. It's best to leave your purchases in your carry-on luggage or place them where you can quickly access them.
4️⃣ Arrive at the airport a little early
Before check-in, find the Customs counter.
They'll check your documents there, and sometimes they might ask you to show them your purchases. After checking, they'll stamp your form.
5️⃣ Receive your money
With the stamp, head to the Tax Refund counter.
Depending on the airport, you can get your refund in cash, on a bank card, or through digital services.
💡 What surprised me most
Honestly, I expected long lines and complicated bureaucracy.
But the process turned out to be quite straightforward, and the staff were helpful at every step.
The main thing is to keep all your documents and don't forget to apply for Tax Free before your flight.
❤️ My conclusion
If you're planning on shopping in China, don't ignore Tax Free.
The process takes very little time, and getting some of your money back is always nice—especially if you have another trip ahead of you. ✈️
📍 Save this post so you don't have to remember the instructions at the airport.

Very strange place! Have you ever heard that Spain is a country on two continents? No? But it is true! Melilla is a Spanish city in Africa. It is on the north coast of the continent and it is bordered with Morocco. It is a unique mixture of Spanish and African culture at the same place. There are regular flight services from Madrid and Malaga.
