The Chillest 2D1N Kuantan Road Trip: Foodie Finds, Murals & Major Views 🚗✨
Looking for an easy-breezy weekend escape? This quick road trip from Johor Bahru to Kuantan seriously hits all the right vibes—foodie stops, cute murals, beachy scenes and max chill. Here’s how I spent 2 dreamy days on Malaysia’s gorgeous east coast!
Day 1: JB to Kuantan
We kicked things off by crossing customs from Johor Bahru, grabbing our rental car (road trip playlist ON 🎶), and hitting the road. First foodie pit stop? Bakkutteh! Nothing like a steaming, comforting bowl to fuel up for the adventure ahead.
Next up: Mersing for some super fresh seafood. The salted egg squid was sooo good—seriously, you gotta order it! After filling up, we made a detour to Gerabak Kopi, a quirky, train-themed café with major IG potential. Snap some pics before the caffeine hits!
By evening, we rolled into Kuantan and caught those cityscape views just as the sun was setting, then did a lil’ exploring around the mall district. Retail therapy, but make it chill. 😌
Day 2: Explore Kuantan
Kicked off the morning with a classic hotel breakfast before heading out to Jin Recipe Cafe (address: B52, Lorong IM 8/33, Bandar Indera Mahkota, 25200 Kuantan, Pahang) for some local eats. Coffee game strong here!
Strolled through East Coast Mall (address: Jalan Putra Square 6, Putra Square, 25200 Kuantan, Pahang, Opening Hours: 10am–10pm) for a shopping fix and quick vibe check.
One of the *major* highlights: Kuantan 188 Tower (address: Jalan Besar, 25000 Kuantan, Pahang. Opening Hours: 10am–10pm). This landmark is a must! It’s iconic for riverside strolls, unbeatable views, and all your cityscape photo dreams. Even though our day started out a little cloudy and rainy, the sun finally peeked out—perfect walking weather and such a mood.
Art lovers, don’t skip Kuantan Art Street! The murals here are next-level cute and totally liven up your feed. Stroll, snap, repeat. It’s seriously one of the prettiest corners for photos if you’re into street art and quirky vibes.
Before heading back to JB, we made one last sweet stop at Mr Churros (address: Lot G-E-228, Ground Floor, East Coast Mall). These crunchy, sugary bites were the dreamiest send-off.
We wrapped things up with a scenic drive through Pekan, breezing past coastal views (road trip windows down, playlist back up 🚗💨).
