Muncan travel guide and discussion

I've scrolled past countless videos of Komodo dragons, and finally stood at the top of Padar Island. The four-colored bay spread out before me, the pink beach shimmered in the sunlight, and the sunrise at Mount Bromo dyed the sea of clouds gold—it felt like standing at the end of the world. But after this trip, I honestly told myself to stop—not because it wasn't fun, but because Indonesia is too "split." Volcanoes, rainforests, islands, and temples—each one makes it impossible to let go. 🌆 Why Indonesia? An archipelago nation with over 17,000 islands. It's home to Borobudur, one of the seven wonders of the world, the breathtaking experience of riding a horse to see the sunrise at Mount Bromo, and top-tier islands with distinct styles like Bali, Komodo, and Lombok. The key is that you can spend a week here for CNY 3,000–5,000 per person, offering value far beyond expectations. 🎡 Must-visit attractions (just copy this) · Borobudur: A must-visit in Yogyakarta. World's largest Buddhist monument. 1,200 years of history that will leave you in awe · Mount Bromo: Wait for the sunrise at 4:00 AM. The landscape looks like the surface of the moon. The closest you'll ever be to a crater · Komodo National Park: See prehistoric giant lizards + pink sand beaches. July–August has the highest Manta ray sighting rate of the year · Ubud, Bali: Tegalalang Rice Terrace, Monkey Forest, Tirta Empul Temple. Visit the viral swings · Nusa Penida: Kelingking Beach (the "dinosaur" cliff). Broken Beach + Angel's Billabong · Tanah Lot: A Bali landmark. Stunning at sunset · Uluwatu: Cliffside temple + Kecak fire dance performance 🍽️ Foodie spots (eat your fill for CNY 30–50 per person) · Nasi Goreng/Mie Goreng: Local eateries charge CNY 20–30. Full of "wok hei" (smoky flavor) · Beef Rendang: Rich in spices. Featured on global food lists · Satay: Charcoal-grilled on the street. The peanut sauce is incredible · Dirty Duck (Bebek Betutu): An Ubud signature. Crispy duck skin · Pork Ribs: Naughty Nuri’s has rich sauce. You'll crave it for a year after one bite · Gudeg: A Yogyakarta specialty. Sweet jackfruit curry · Jimbaran Seafood BBQ: Enjoy lobster for CNY 100+ per person 🏨 Accommodation recommendations · Ubud: Top choice for artsy travelers. Surrounded by rainforests and rice terraces. Private pool villas from US$70/night · Seminyak/Kuta: Top choice for young people. Close to the airport. One-stop shop for shopping and eating · Nusa Dua: Pure relaxation. Packed with five-star hotels · Yogyakarta: High value for money. Convenient for visiting Borobudur and Prambanan 💡 Tips (hard-learned lessons) 1. Visa: For 2026, it's recommended to apply for an e-VOA (approx. CNY 250) in advance for a smooth, queue-free entry. Passport must have at least 6 months of validity remaining 2. Entry declaration: Fill out the electronic customs declaration (e-CD) 72 hours before departure. Take screenshots of all three QR codes 3. Transportation: There's no public transport in Bali. Download Grab or Gojek for transparent pricing without getting ripped off 4. Currency exchange: Don't exchange at the airport! Bring USD to the city and find a legitimate exchange office 5. Suggestion: Choose 1–2 islands for an 8-day vacation. Don't turn your holiday into a rush Indonesia is beautiful—the volcanoes, islands, temples, and food are all breathtaking. But the difficulty of choosing from over 17,000 islands, the hassle of inter-island travel, and the eternal traffic jams in Bali make this journey exhausting yet joyful. I'm still glad I came. It's just that this country makes it so easy to get "decision paralysis"—volcanoes or islands? Bali or Komodo? I'm afraid I'll impulsively quit my job and go island-hopping. If you're mentally prepared to be "split" by the beautiful scenery, then set off—after all, some sights only count if you've seen them with your own eyes.🌋🌊

There’s something magical about waking up early to catch the first light of day at Bukit Selong, Lombok. As the morning mist slowly lifts, the golden sunlight reveals a breathtaking patchwork of colourful rice fields, surrounded by rolling green hills and the peaceful beauty of Sembalun Valley. Standing at the top, breathing in the cool mountain air and watching the world come alive beneath me, I couldn't help but wish time would slow down. No busy streets, no rush, just the sound of nature and a view that feels almost too beautiful to be real. Sometimes, the most unforgettable travel moments are the simplest ones. And this quiet morning in Bukit Selong is definitely one I'll remember forever. The view reminded me of a painting I used to do- a canvas full of different colours rectangles 💚 #indonesiatrip #lombok

Bali is just the beginning: the 10 day route I’d actually do 🇮🇩✨ Just walking through Bali, you might think you’ve already seen the best of Indonesia. Then you look a little further east and realise there are tiny islands, turquoise water, manta rays, quiet beaches and entire stretches of coastline where the pace feels completely different. Because here’s the thing… Bali is incredible, but if you have around 10 days, I personally wouldn’t spend the entire trip changing hotels every two nights or sitting in traffic just to tick off another famous café or viewpoint. I’d use Bali as the beginning of the trip, then head out to the islands. The route I’d build is: 🌴 2 nights Bali 🏝️ 3 nights Nusa Lembongan 🌉 Nusa Ceningan day trip 🐠 Nusa Penida day trip 🌊 5 nights Lombok And the biggest trick is actually keeping the itinerary simple. Instead of treating every island as a separate hotel stop, make Nusa Lembongan your base for the Nusas. That one decision can make the trip feel so much easier. Lembongan has enough beaches, cafés, viewpoints and little roads to explore without feeling like you need to constantly pack your bag. From there, Nusa Ceningan is connected by the famous Yellow Bridge, so you can simply cross over and spend the day exploring another island without moving accommodation. Then there’s Nusa Penida. Penida is much bigger and can feel more hectic than Lembongan, but it is worth adding if you want dramatic cliffs, huge ocean views and the chance to see manta rays. Rather than spending another night packing and unpacking, you can make Penida a day trip from your Lembongan base. That’s the part of this itinerary I really like. You get the experience of visiting multiple islands without turning the entire holiday into a luggage transfer operation. 😂 And then comes the part I would give the most time to: Lombok. 🌊 Why Lombok gets 5 nights Lombok is where I’d intentionally slow down. Instead of trying to visit five different destinations in five days, base yourself around Kuta Lombok and use it as your starting point for exploring the south. You’ll have access to beaches such as Tanjung Aan, Mawun and Selong Belanak, plus surf spots around Gerupuk and plenty of smaller beaches and viewpoints to discover along the way. And this is where the trip starts feeling different from Bali. The roads open up. The landscape feels more spacious. You can ride for a while without immediately running into another huge cluster of cafés, shops and traffic. Some beaches can still be busy, especially at popular times, but compared with the most developed parts of Bali, the overall rhythm can feel much slower. That is exactly why I wouldn’t rush through Lombok. One of the easiest mistakes with an itinerary like this is trying to squeeze everything in because the map makes the islands look close. Indonesia looks deceptively compact. A place might look like it is “just over there,” but boats, road conditions, weather, transfers and check-in times can turn a simple move into half a day. So instead of asking, “How many places can I visit?” I’d ask: “Where do I actually want to wake up?” For this route, I’d rather wake up five times in Lombok than spend those days checking out, travelling, checking in and repeating the process. 🌴 HOW I’D STRUCTURE THE 10 DAYS DAY 1: ARRIVE IN BALI Keep the first day easy. Depending on your arrival time, choose one Bali base and stay there rather than trying to cross the island immediately. For beaches and sunsets, Uluwatu is a great base. For culture, rice terraces and a greener atmosphere, choose Ubud. For cafés, restaurants, nightlife and a more social atmosphere, Canggu is an option. You really don’t need to see every corner of Bali on this trip. Pick one area that matches your vibe and actually enjoy it. DAY 2: BALI Give yourself a proper Bali day. Go to the beach, explore nearby temples or viewpoints, have a long lunch and watch the sunset. This is not the trip where you need a 6 AM sunrise, seven attractions and a 10 PM dinner every single day. Leave some breathing room. DAY 3: BALI → NUSA LEMBONGAN Take a fast boat from Bali to Nusa Lembongan. Once you arrive, check in, drop your bags and start exploring. Depending on your arrival time, keep the afternoon relaxed with a beach stop, sunset viewpoint or casual dinner. And pack light. Seriously. Carrying a giant suitcase onto a boat, across a pier and through island roads is one of those travel experiences that sounds fine until you’re actually doing it. 😭 A backpack or smaller luggage is much easier. DAY 4: NUSA LEMBONGAN + CENINGAN This is your island exploration day. Cross the Yellow Bridge into Nusa Ceningan and spend the day moving slowly between viewpoints, cafés, beaches and coastal roads. You don’t need another hotel. You don’t need another check-in. You don’t need to make it complicated. The whole point is being able to wake up in Lembongan and explore Ceningan for the day before coming back to the same room. That makes the itinerary much more enjoyable. DAY 5: NUSA PENIDA DAY TRIP Use another day for Nusa Penida. If manta ray snorkelling is high on your list, this is the day to plan around. You can combine the snorkelling with a small number of land stops rather than trying to see the entire island in one day. And that part is important. Penida is not tiny. Roads and travel times can make ambitious day-trip itineraries much longer than they look on a map. Pick one area or a couple of highlights and enjoy them. You don’t need 14 photos from every viewpoint to prove you visited. DAY 6: NUSA LEMBONGAN → LOMBOK Now move east. This is where the itinerary starts changing pace. Instead of returning to Bali, look at boat connections that allow you to continue towards Lombok, depending on the season and current schedules. Build some flexibility into this day because sea conditions can affect island transfers. Once you’re in Lombok, settle into your base around Kuta and keep the evening simple. Dinner. Walk around. Maybe find a little warung. Sleep. That’s enough. DAY 7: TANJUNG AAN + SOUTH LOMBOK Start exploring the beaches around Kuta Lombok. Tanjung Aan is an easy addition to a south Lombok beach day, and you can combine it with other nearby stops rather than treating every beach as a separate excursion. This is where renting a scooter can make the area feel much more open, assuming you’re properly licensed and comfortable riding. If you’re not confident on a scooter, arrange a driver instead. The goal is exploring, not proving anything. 😂 DAY 8: MAWUN + SELONG BELANAK Make this another slower beach day. Mawun has the kind of setting that makes you want to stay longer than planned. Selong Belanak is also worth adding, particularly if you’re interested in surfing or simply want another beautiful stretch of coastline. Don’t be afraid to spend several hours in one place. A good travel day doesn’t have to mean visiting six locations. Sometimes the best part is ordering something cold, sitting by the beach and realising you haven’t checked the time in three hours. DAY 9: GERUPUK + A SLOW LOMBOK DAY Use your final full day based on your interests. If you surf, Gerupuk can be a major reason to be in this part of Lombok. If you don’t surf, use the day for another beach, viewpoint, café or a longer ride through the surrounding countryside. You could also use this as your buffer day. If weather or boat delays affected an earlier part of the itinerary, having one flexible day can save the trip from becoming stressful. DAY 10: LOMBOK + DEPARTURE Keep your final day simple and leave enough time for your transfer. If you’re flying out of Lombok, plan your route around the airport rather than squeezing in one last faraway beach. If you’re continuing somewhere else, use the same principle. The last day should be about getting there comfortably, not winning an imaginary “most places visited” competition. 😂 ✨ THE BALI + BEYOND TIPS I’D ACTUALLY USE 📍 Pick ONE Bali base Uluwatu for beaches and sunsets. Ubud for culture and greenery. Canggu for cafés, restaurants and nightlife. Trying to sleep in three different parts of Bali before even reaching the islands defeats the point of this itinerary. 🏝️ Make Lembongan your Nusa base You can explore Lembongan and Ceningan without changing hotels, then use a separate day for Penida. That means fewer check-outs and more actual holiday time. 🌉 Ceningan does not need another hotel The Yellow Bridge connects Lembongan and Ceningan, making it easy to treat them as one part of your itinerary. 🎒 Pack lighter than you think Island transfers are much easier with a backpack or small bag. Keep your larger luggage to a minimum and bring only what you’ll actually use. 🛥️ Leave flexibility around boat days Fast boats are convenient, but you’re still travelling by sea. Weather and sea conditions can affect schedules, so avoid putting something extremely important immediately after a boat transfer if you can help it. 🐠 Don’t overpack Penida If manta snorkelling is your priority, build the day around that. Then choose one or two land stops that make sense geographically. Trying to photograph every famous Penida viewpoint in one day can turn an island adventure into a race against traffic. 🛵 Scooter only if you’re properly prepared A scooter gives you freedom around the islands, but it isn’t automatically the right choice for everyone. Make sure you’re legally allowed to ride, have the appropriate licence, wear a helmet and only ride if you’re genuinely comfortable. 🌊 Give Lombok the biggest chunk This is probably the biggest change I’d make compared with a typical Bali itinerary. Instead of constantly moving east and west, give yourself several nights in one Lombok base. You can still explore a lot without waking up in a different hotel every morning. 🍜 Leave empty space in the itinerary Some of my favourite travel moments aren’t the famous attractions. They’re the random warung. The tiny roadside café. The beach we didn’t originally plan to visit. The sunset that wasn’t on the itinerary. The road where we suddenly decided to stop because the view looked too good to ignore. That’s why I wouldn’t schedule every hour of this trip. Indonesia rewards a little spontaneity. 📌 SAVE THIS FOR YOUR INDONESIA PLANNING If you have around 10 days and want more than the classic Bali checklist, this route gives you a nice balance of Bali, island life, snorkelling, beaches, scooters, food and slower days without turning the entire holiday into one giant transfer schedule. You still get the iconic Bali experience. You get the Nusas. You get manta rays and turquoise water. And then you get several days to properly slow down in Lombok. The biggest lesson? Don’t try to see all of Indonesia in one trip. Choose fewer bases, stay longer and let the trip breathe. Because sometimes the best itinerary isn’t the one with the most destinations. It’s the one where you actually remember how each place felt. 🌴🇮🇩 📌 Save this for your Bali + Lombok trip. Would you spend the extra nights in Lombok, or would you give more time to the Nusas? #Bali #Lombok #Indonesia #NusaLembongan #NusaCeningan #NusaPenida #BaliTravel #LombokTravel #IndonesiaTravel #BaliItinerary #IndonesiaItinerary #TravelTips #IslandHopping #SoutheastAsia #TravelGuide

Lombok is bigger than I expected. Instead of staying in one place for my entire trip, I split my 7 nights across 3 different areas — and each one gave me a completely different experience. 🏝️ 3 nights — Gili Air I chose Gili Air for its local village charm, cafés and relaxed beaches. It was the slow start to my trip — walking around the island, café hopping, people-watching, watching the sunset and going snorkelling. ⛰️ 2 nights — North Lombok Then I moved to North Lombok for a change of scenery. This was the mountains, waterfalls and local village part of the trip. I visited Sendang Gile Waterfall, explored the surrounding area and enjoyed the mountain views. 🏖️ 2 nights — Kuta, South Lombok I ended the trip in Kuta and deliberately did less. Beach, swimming, cafés, massage and plenty of time relaxing at the hotel. After several days of exploring, it was exactly what I needed. 💡 Was moving around worth it? For me, yes. Each area offered something different: Gili Air → island life 🌴 North Lombok → mountains & adventure ⛰️ South Lombok → beaches & relaxation 🏖️ Moving hotels does mean packing and unpacking more often, but for my trip, it meant less time travelling back and forth across Lombok and more time enjoying each area. If you want to see different sides of Lombok, I’d consider splitting your stay too. But if your priority is simply a relaxing beach holiday, I’d pick one area and stay put. There’s no one “best” place to stay in Lombok — it depends on the kind of holiday you want.

#easytravelpost Sembalun (1,150 m, east Rinjani) is the savannah gate to Rinjani — but the mossy half isn't the crater rim, it's the Pos 1–Pos 2 saddle grassland at 1,800 m where Anaphalis javanica (Javan edelweiss) grows waist-high and Sphagnum pads the seep between tussocks in the 06:30 fog. I flew Bali→Lombok (IDR 620,000), drove 3.5 hrs to Sembalun (charter IDR 550k cash), registered via e-Rinjani app (foreigner IDR 250,000/day, passport + medical note uploaded, guide mandatory IDR 350k/day), started at 6 a.m. in July. The edelweiss is protected — no picking, IDR 1m fine. The moss lives on the north spring 400 m above Pos 1 where the savannah dips to a cut-stone trough — silver till 8, grey by 10 when the sun cracks the saddle. Mistake: I tried a day-hike to the saddle without permit in January — park closed 1 Jan–31 Mar, gate locked, turned back to Senaru, lost IDR 550k transport. Apr–Dec, book 3 weeks ahead for Jul–Aug. Second mistake: I picked an edelweiss sprig "for the photo" — ranger at Pos 2: "that plant is 4 yrs old, IDR 1m fine, hand it to the wind". Third: I expected card at Sembalun warung — IDR 20k bakso cash, the e-Rinjani fee is app-only but the guide wants cash IDR 350k, ATM in Sembalun only on market day. Buy in Sembalun: a IDR 20,000 jagung bakar (grilled corn with coconut), not the IDR 90k trekking-package lunch. Gear: 3 L water, IDR 300k boots, IDR 180k shell — saddle 1,800 m, 8°C dawn. Local rule: e-Rinjani passport permit, guide mandatory, no edelweiss picking, no drone near crater (volcano), stay on the saddle tread, the seep trough is not a footbath. Opinion: Sembalun is the IDR 250k/day savannah that sells Rinjani summit dreams, and the mossy edelweiss seep at Pos 1–2 is the free 20-min half with zero Plawangan-rim crowd. Should the e-Rinjani system add a IDR 10k honour box at Pos 1 for trough-board, or keep the flat 250k? I'd add it. Would you permit-register 3 weeks out just for mossy edelweiss at 1,800 m?

Lombok is the kind of island that makes you slow down and appreciate the simple beauty of nature. Located just east of Bali, it offers a more peaceful and adventurous atmosphere, with dramatic mountains, turquoise waters, traditional villages, and some of Indonesia’s most beautiful beaches. 🇮🇩✨ 🏔️ Mount Rinjani is the island’s crown jewel. Rising above the landscape, this spectacular volcano is famous for its challenging trekking routes and the breathtaking Segara Anak crater lake. For adventurous travelers, the sunrise views from Rinjani are unforgettable. 🏖️ Kuta Lombok is a wonderful base for exploring the island’s southern coastline. Nearby beaches such as Tanjung Aan, Mawun, and Selong Belanak offer soft sand, clear blue water, rolling hills, and spectacular coastal scenery. 🌊 For island-hopping and underwater adventures, head toward the Gili Islands. Gili Trawangan is known for its lively atmosphere, while Gili Air and Gili Meno offer a quieter escape. Snorkeling around the Gilis can reveal colorful coral reefs and abundant marine life. 🐢🐠 🌅 Tanjung Aan is especially magical around sunset, when the surrounding hills and curved shoreline create an incredible natural panorama. 🌿 Beyond the beaches, Lombok has a rich cultural side. Visit traditional Sasak villages to experience local architecture, crafts, traditions, and everyday island life. The contrast between peaceful villages and spectacular landscapes makes exploring inland Lombok just as rewarding as visiting the coast. 🍛 And don't leave without trying local Sasak cuisine. Ayam Taliwang, Plecing Kangkung, and other spicy Lombok specialties offer a taste of the island's distinctive culinary culture. Lombok isn't simply a beach destination—it is a place where mountains meet the sea, adventure meets tranquility, and traditional island life meets breathtaking scenery. 📍 Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia 🌴 Beaches • 🏔️ Mountains • 🌊 Snorkeling • 🛶 Island Life • 🌅 Sunsets • 🌿 Culture Lombok is paradise for travelers who want to discover it, not just visit it. 💚🇮🇩 #Lombok #Indonesia #LombokIsland #ExploreLombok #VisitIndonesia #IndonesiaTravel #TropicalParadise #GiliIslands #MountRinjani #KutaLombok #TravelPhotography #Wanderlust #IslandEscape #Tripcom

📍 Sukarara Village, Lombok, Indonesia My visit to Sukarara Village is one of my favourite cultural experiences in Lombok! Sukarara is known for its traditional Sasak songket weaving, and I got to see the process. The local artisans weave the fabric by hand, carefully working through each pattern. The amount of patience and attention to detail really amazed me. Every little thread has to be handled so carefully 🧵 And then came my favourite part… trying on the songket 😂 The fabrics were SO beautiful with shimmering threads. I don't know if it's the songket or just the confidence boost, but I felt a little prettier wearing it! They even have traditional Sasak house and I got to take some photos there too! I felt even more connected to the culture behind the textiles! I was told that Sasak songket pattern isn't simply decorative. Different patterns carry their own meanings and can reflect ideas about faith, gratitude, nature, prosperity, and community. Such as Subahnale (the one I was wearing), also have historical associations with Sasak nobility and royal traditions 🤴👸 Okay, this time I post my face 🫣 'cause I did not have the raw photo of the housing samples 😅 #sukararavillage #lombok #sasakculture #songket #culturaltravel #wonderfulindonesia

#adventuretrips Took a break from posting because I went volcano hunting in Indonesia 🌋. Spent 2 weeks there this time! Besides Merapi and Agung which I've shot before, I finally got new shots of Rinjani on Lombok and Semeru in Central Java. Even though they're all volcanoes, each one seriously has its own vibe! · Pics 1-4: Mount Merapi 🌋 Got them framed with Prambanan and the waterfalls. As one of the most active volcanoes here, it looks so cool just constantly puffing out smoke. · Pics 5-8: Mount Rinjani 🌋 Spent 3 days and 2 nights hiking to the summit for this one. We started the final push at 1 AM—totally burned out by then! But seeing that first sunrise at 5 AM from the top, watching the volcano cast a triangular shadow over the clouds... honestly, worth every bit of exhaustion. · Pics 9-10: Mount Semeru 🌋 Went to Nepal Van Java village up there 3 years ago but luck wasn't on my side; the whole mountain was just fog. This time I stayed overnight in the village. Even though it was super gloomy when we arrived, the sky cleared up the next day and I finally got the shot I wanted ✌🏻. · Pics 11-12: Mount Agung 🌋 Shot Agung back when I was in Bali, but this time from Lombok, using the Gili Islands as foreground to unlock a totally new angle. · Besides these 4, I've also photographed Bromo, Semeru, Ijen, and Krimut in Indo over the years. After the grueling yet breathtaking Rinjani summit trek that left us covered in volcanic ash, there was no better way to spend this morning than diving into Lombok’s famous Tiu Kelep Waterfall for a complete refresh! From the entrance, the path is surrounded by lush greenery. You first pass the elegant Sendang Gile Waterfall, then trek for about 30 minutes along a crystal-clear stream. When you finally arrive, the sight is absolutely breathtaking—a gentle curtain of water veils the cliffside on one side, while a powerful, roaring torrent thunders down on the other! Trading hiking gear for swimsuits and jumping into the ice-cold spring water was pure bliss. Surrounded by the powerful mist and natural negative ions, it was the ultimate reward after days of hardcore trekking. Absolute heaven! 📸 Photo Log: Pic 1| Sendang Gile Waterfall ⛲ The first waterfall near the entrance, where layers of water flow through the greenery, looking elegant and peaceful. Pic 2| The Path Forward 🌿 While Sendang Gile is stunning, our final destination is further in—about another thirty-minute hike. Pic 3| Crystal Clear Streams 💎 The stream along the way is so clear you can see every pebble at the bottom. It feels refreshing just looking at it. Pic 4-5| The Awe-inspiring Tiu Kelep 😮 We finally arrived! The water roars down the towering cliffs. The contrast between the soft water curtain and the explosive main fall is just incredible. Pic 6| Ready to Dive In! 🏊‍♂️ Suited up and ready to go! I couldn't wait to jump into the water and cool off. Pic 7| Mind-blowing Power and Mist 💦 The force of the water is intense. The mist covers everything; even from a distance, the camera lens was completely soaked. Pic 8-9| Pure Bliss in the Water 🥳 Soaking in the cool pool, all the volcanic ash and muscle fatigue simply melted away. The perfect post-trek therapy! Pic 10| The Ultimate "Natural Shower" 🚿 Next to the main falls is a smaller stream with the perfect pressure. It’s the best spot to line up and enjoy a natural, refreshing rinse! 📍 Sendang Gile & Tiu Kelep Waterfall, Lombok, Indonesia

If you’re looking for a more peaceful alternative to Bali, Lombok is the perfect escape. Think turquoise water, white-sand beaches, dramatic cliffs and incredible landscapes far from the crowds 🌴🌊. Morning: Tanjung Aan & Kuta 🌅🏝️ Start your day at Tanjung Aan Beach, one of the most beautiful beaches in southern Lombok. Walk along the white sand, swim in the turquoise water and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. ☕ Grab a coffee or fresh coconut before continuing your adventure. Then head to Kuta Mandalika to explore the area and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere. Late Morning: Bukit Merese 🌿🌊 Climb Bukit Merese for one of the best panoramic views in southern Lombok. From the top, you’ll see endless green hills, dramatic cliffs and bright blue ocean stretching into the distance. 📸 It’s one of those viewpoints where every angle looks like a postcard. Afternoon: Selong Belanak Beach 🏄♂️☀️ Head to Selong Belanak Beach for a few hours of beach time. 🏄 Try surfing 🌊 Swim in the clear water 🏝️ Relax on the sand 🥥 Enjoy a fresh coconut The beach is also a great place for beginners who want to try surfing. Sunset: Lombok’s Golden Hour 🌅✨ Finish your day back around the southern coast. Find a viewpoint or beach spot, grab a drink and watch the sun disappear over the ocean. Practical tips 💡 🚗 A private driver is the easiest option for seeing several places in one day. ⏰ Start early to make the most of your day. ☀️ Bring sunscreen, water and a hat. 🏄 If you’re surfing, check the local conditions and use an instructor if you’re a beginner. 🌊 Check travel times carefully—Lombok is larger than it looks. Lombok is the perfect place to slow down, explore beautiful beaches and experience a quieter side of Indonesia 🇮🇩🌴✨ Save this for your Indonesia trip ✈️ #Lombok #LombokIndonesia #IndonesiaTravel #KutaLombok #TanjungAan #SelongBelanak #BukitMerese #IndonesiaBucketList #ExploreIndonesia #TravelGuide #couplestrip #travel2026

#easytravelpost The Gili Trawangan "hill" (south-end rise, ~80 m) is a 15–20 min walk from the harbor through casuarina (Casuaria equisetifolia) scrub** where the moss grows on the windward trunks — Papillaria on the casuarina bark 1 cm, Campylopus on the coral-sand root 1 cm, Sphagnum in the only freshwater seep 1 cm (yes, thin), 30°C in June, the savanna cuckoo, Bali's Agung smoking south. No fee, Lombok Bangsal→Trawangan public boat 15k IDR, island has no motors — bike 30k IDR/day or walk. I based on Gili T (losmen 150k IDR), walked from the east harbor 16:30, climbed the south hill. The moss on the 2000s lookout post was black-green with goat-dropping, ate a 25k IDR night-market satay, watched the 17:10 sun drop behind Agung — casuarina silhouette + moss-trunk foreground, the classic Gili shot. Mistake: I went at noon in Aug — zero shade, casuarina casts no shadow, baked in 10 min; sunset or 06:30 sunrise only, the moss is a dawn-drip thing. Another: no ATM on Gili T takes foreign cards reliably, draw in Bangsal/Lombok. Would you boat 15k IDR + free hill for the Gili T casuarina-moss sunset, or skip the hill and do the free north-shore bike-to-turtle-point instead?

#howislivingthere Hey my travel stars ✨ ! 🌍✨ Think about "What's a place that surprised me?" When I first left the chaotic, scooter-heavy streets of Bali, I expected the nearby Gili Islands to be just another standard tropical beach stop. Instead, it became one of the most unforgettable eco-discoveries of my entire life. In Indonesian, "Gili" literally translates to "small island,"but this tiny, motor-free archipelago completely blew my expectations out of the water. If you are looking for a true sanctuary where time completely dissolves, here is why this place is the ultimate pleasant shock: 🚫 The Zero-Emission Local Structure The absolute first thing that completely resets your nervous system is the silence. All motorized gasoline vehicles are strictly banned by local law. How am I Move: There are no roaring engines, no traffic jams, and no exhaust fumes. You navigate the sandy roads purely on foot, on bicycles, or by riding in traditional small carts pulled by local horses (Cidomo). For a modern upgrade, locals use silent electric scooters. It creates a deeply peaceful, eco-friendly atmosphere that makes you feel completely safe and grounded. 🏝️ The "Maldivean Bali" Visual Flex The landscape here earned the title of the "Maldivean Bali" for a reason. On one side of the coast, you are walking on blindingly white, soft sand. On the other side, the beach takes on a magical, subtle pink hue. The water is so impossibly transparent that the wooden boats floating near the shore look like they are hovering in mid-air over the vibrant coral gardens. 🐢 My Ultimate 4-Step Gili Checklist: 💎Swimming with Giants: The underwater marine life is incredibly rich. You don't need expensive boat tours; you just put on a mask and snorkel right off the beach. Within minutes, you are floating side-by-side with massive, peaceful sea turtles. 💎 Sunset Horse Riding: Every evening, as the sky turns into a fiery purple and orange canvas, you can take a relaxed horseback ride directly through the shallow, warm crystal water along the coastline. 💎 Beach Cinema Under the Stars: In good weather, beachfront resorts (like the Aston) set up massive projector screens directly on the sand. You can grab a fresh, chilled coconut, lie back on a plush beanbag, and watch a movie under a brilliant canopy of southern stars with the ocean waves playing in the background. 💎 The Night Market Haul: Once darkness falls, the entire community gathers at the open-air Night Market. Local fishermen grill tons of fresh red snapper, massive prawns, and lobsters over open charcoal for just a few dollars. Gili operates on a completely different, beautifully slowed-down rhythm. It forces you to disconnect from the digital noise and remember how beautiful our planet is in its rawest form. It is 100% 💬 My Quick "This or That" Vote for the Challenge: I am firmly voting for Hidden Gems 🌿, Nature Escapes 🌲, and Spontaneous Adventures 🎒! What about you guys? Could you survive a whole week on a tiny island with absolutely no cars or traffic? Let’s get the discussion and voting going in the comments below! 👇 📍 How to manage it & Traveler Hacks: 🦚The Route: Catch a daily high-speed boat (fastboat) from Bali’s Sanur or Padang Bai ports. The journey across the Lombok Strait takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. 🦚Which Island to Choose: There are three islands! Gili Trawangan is the biggest and liveliest (where the night market and cinemas are). Gili Air is a peaceful chill-out zone, and Gili Meno is a completely wild, quiet romantic escape. 🦚 Eco Rule: Bring a reusable water flask. Because the islands are strictly eco-focused, almost every cafe and hotel provides free water-refill stations to combat plastic pollution.

A hidden gem in Lombok that honestly gave me Bali vibes. 🌊🌿 Standing on the edge of the dramatic cliffs, surrounded by endless ocean views and beautiful green landscapes, it felt like stepping into a postcard. The breathtaking scenery, peaceful atmosphere, and raw beauty of nature made this one of my favourite spots in Lombok. Definitely a place worth visiting if you love beautiful landscapes and unforgettable views. 🤍 Lombok really has its own kind of magic. ✨🇮🇩 #lombok #indonesiatrip

Going to Indonesia for summer vacation? These 5 destinations are prioritized for you (family/kids, honeymoon, graduation—pick what fits) The biggest problem with going to Indonesia for summer vacation isn’t the budget— It’s that you don’t know which one to choose among over 17,000 islands. · Coco has worked in Southeast Asia for 10 years, and I’ve ranked the 5 most frequently asked Indonesian destinations. I’ll clearly explain who each place is suitable for, who it’s not suitable for, and what the summer experience is like. Just pick what fits you👇 🏝️ Image 1: Summary table 🏝️ Image 2: Bali: First-time international trip choice, end of dry season with small waves and green rice fields 🏝️ Image 3: Yogyakarta, Java: Cost-effective for families with kids, Borobudur is 100 times more impressive than textbooks 🏝️ Image 4: Komodo: Golden season in July-August, highest manta ray sightings all year round 🏝️ Image 5: Lombok: The quieter version of Bali, surfing + off-the-beaten-path photo spots 🏝️ Image 6: Sumba Island: The ultimate secret paradise, only those who have been to Bali will understand its charm · Finally, three practical tips: 1. Don’t be greedy. For an 8-day vacation, 1-2 islands are enough. Travel between Indonesian islands takes more time than you think, don’t turn your holiday into a rush. 2. July is better than August for summer vacation. Late August around Indonesian Independence Day is a local travel peak, and hotel prices rise. If you can go in July, don’t wait until the end of August. 3. Book your flight tickets now. For summer trips to Indonesia, booking 30 days in advance versus 7 days in advance can save you 2000-3000 RMB per person. One unchanging truth: Going to the right place is ten thousand times more important than going to many places. Let’s chat in the comments: Which place in Indonesia has most inspired you to visit?

🌅 The Island Everyone Warned Me About Everyone told me Bali would change my life. They were right — just not in the way I expected. I landed in Denpasar on a Tuesday morning, dragging my bag through a wall of heat and taxi drivers and selfie sticks. By Wednesday, I was standing in Kuta watching a hundred tourists photograph the same sunset at the same angle. By Thursday, I was on a ferry to Lombok. I don’t regret a single minute of it. 🛶 What Bali Used to Be Don’t get me wrong — Bali is beautiful. The temples are real, the rice terraces are real, the spirituality is real. But somewhere between the rooftop infinity pools and the Instagram cafés charging $18 for a smoothie bowl, something got lost. Bali became a performance of itself. Old travelers will tell you about the Bali of the 1990s — quiet villages, empty beaches, mornings that belonged only to you. That Bali doesn’t exist anymore. But Lombok does. 🌊 The Island That Doesn’t Try Lombok sits just 35 kilometers east of Bali, close enough to see on a clear day, far enough to feel like a different world. There are no dress-code cafés here. No influencer queues outside a temple gate. Just a volcano that dominates the skyline, beaches the color of a dream, and locals who look genuinely surprised — and pleased — to see you. Selong Belanak took my breath away. A long crescent of pale sand, warm water, a handful of surfers, and almost no one else. I sat there for two hours and counted fewer than twenty people. In Bali, that same beach would have a parking fee and a cocktail vendor every ten meters. 🏔️ The Secret the Map Doesn’t Tell You The Gili Islands — Gili Trawangan, Gili Meno, Gili Air — sit just off Lombok’s northwest coast and they are, genuinely, paradise. No motorized vehicles. Bicycles and horse carts only. You walk everywhere, or you don’t go. The pace forces you to slow down in a way no wellness retreat ever could. I arrived as a tourist. I left feeling like a traveler. ✈️ How to Make It Happen Flying into Lombok’s international airport (LOP) is easier than most people think — direct connections from Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, and Jakarta run regularly. Or take the scenic route: fly into Bali, spend a day or two, then catch the fast boat east. The crossing takes under two hours and costs almost nothing. Book your stay in Lombok through Trip.com — from beachfront eco-resorts on Selong Belanak to budget guesthouses near the Gilis, the options are wide and the prices will make you wonder why you ever paid Bali prices in the first place. Some islands want to be discovered. Lombok is still waiting for you.

📍Harbor Island, Bahamas 🎈Harbor Island . The pink color is most obvious around 2 to 3 PM. . The sand is very fine, and there are very few people. There are generally few tourists in the Bahamas. .Indonesia 🇮🇩 Pink Beaches: Romantic Legends and Natural Wonders The Origin of Pink Beaches: Nature’s Romantic Blend The dreamy pink hue of pink beaches is not artificially created but a masterpiece of nature. It is formed by the mixing and grinding of red coral fragments with pristine white ocean sand grains over billions of years of wave action. When these two colors blend in a specific ratio under certain lighting, they present a soft and unique pink tone. Among them, Komodo Island’s pink beach is the most vivid and typical due to its rich surrounding coral reef ecosystem. Comparison of Two Major Pink Beaches 1. Tangsi Beach, Lombok Island · Features: The tone is elegant and soft, showing a light cherry blossom pink or flesh pink, better described as a “beach with a pink tint.” The environment here is quiet, with relatively few tourists, clear water, and a sense of pristine tranquility. · Experience: Ideal for travelers seeking a niche, leisurely trip. You can enjoy a peaceful half-day here, swimming, snorkeling, or relaxing under the coconut trees. 2. Pink Beach, Komodo Island · Features: This is one of the few beaches in the world with the purest and most vivid pink sand. The pink band is very wide, especially at noon when the sunlight is strongest, making the color most stunning. It contrasts sharply with the Tiffany blue sea, creating a powerful visual impact. · Experience: Usually a stop on the “Komodo National Park island-hopping tour,” combined with activities like searching for the prehistoric giant lizard—the Komodo dragon, climbing the Padar Island four-colored bay viewpoint, and encountering manta rays at world-class snorkeling spots. It is the ultimate journey combining natural wonders and adventure. Visitor Information · Best Viewing Time: Dry season (April to October), when the weather is clear, water visibility is high, and the pink color is most vivid. The best light is from 10 AM to 3 PM. · How to Get There: Both require a transfer from Bali. To reach Lombok Island, take a fast boat or flight; to reach Komodo Island, fly from Bali to Labuan Bajo, then join a liveaboard or day tour boat trip. · Environmental Responsibility: This fragile beauty needs to be protected together. Please strictly follow regulations, do not take any sand or stones, and avoid using sunscreen harmful to coral to keep the romance sustainable. Although Bali itself does not have pink beaches, this “Island of the Gods” serves as the perfect gateway to Lombok and Komodo Islands, making this pursuit of pink romance possible. This natural blend of pink is not only an excellent photo backdrop but also a gentle testament to the vitality of life on Earth.

During Golden Week in 2026, I took a family trip to the Gili Islands and Lombok, Indonesia. ■ Access Gili Air is one of the three Gili Islands located off the northwest coast of Lombok, Indonesia. From Japan, you have two options: 1) Fly into Bali, then take a 2-3 hour ferry from Sanur or Padang Bai, or 2) Fly into Lombok, then take a 15-minute boat ride from Senggigi. It's a true hidden gem for those in the know. Recommended Highlights ✨ 🟦 A paradise of stunning beachfront cafes 😍 The island's southeast beach is dotted with fresh, resort-style cafes. Coming back from snorkeling at Turtle Point to gaze at the beautifully majestic mountain ridges of Lombok while sipping coffee by day and enjoying cocktails and a seafood BBQ by night is absolute bliss. Most visitors here are European, so restaurant prices in tourist areas are set a bit higher than in Bali. However, if you wander near the harbor, you'll find plenty of local warungs where you can grab a plate of Nasi Campur for just around 15,000 rupiah. 🟦 99% chance of seeing turtles?! The Turtle Snorkeling Point is unreal On the north side of the island lies "Turtle Spot," a snorkeling area where you can swim with sea turtles just a few meters off the sandy beach. I spotted turtles six times in just an hour and a half! I heard the best time to go is from morning to around noon for a higher chance of seeing them. If you order a drink at one of the beachfront cafes, they’ll even keep an eye on your bags for you. Most cafes have a minimum spend, usually around 100,000 rupiah per adult. Kids' minimums are negotiable and might be discounted or even waived, so definitely give it a shot! 🟦 The perfect balance of lively and peaceful Gili Air offers the best of both worlds compared to the other two islands, Gili Trawangan and Gili Meno. The center has convenience stores and chic restaurants, and the coastline features gorgeous resorts without the crazy party vibe. It’s highly recommended for couples and families looking to kick back and relax.

Lombok is on of the best island in Indonesia with so many beaches and snorkeling spot. Here are some places I recommend you to go: 1. Mawun Beach 2. Tanjung Aan 3. Pink Beach 4. Gili Meno 5. Gili Trawangan And if want to enjoy sunset these are some places you can go: 1. Bukit Merese 2. Kuta Mandalika Beach 3. Gili Trawangan Travel tips: I recommend you to book a private tour that includes transportation (car and slow boat) that can take you to those places because Lombok is a big island and each places are pretty far from each other. The price is around 1.8mio rupiah (around 100USD) for 3 day tour.
