We visited a few attractions near Kotagiri but this one was spectacular!! We reached there at the time of sunset and there was view of mountains with and without shadow of other mountains. Sky colors were so beautiful and different. From this view, you could actually see a lake, a waterfall and far far mountains. Fortunately that day, there were no so many clouds and actually the view was clear. Based on the location of this viewpoint, I think sunrise would be more specular. But ya sunset has its own charm and the route to this point is beautiful in itself. It was so peaceful n green surrounded by kodanad tea estate. More often than not, people board the Nilgiri Mountain Railway for the heritage experience and just to experience the thrill of riding a steep mountain route. This 115-year old Nilgiris Mountain railway is a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2005. The train starts from Mettupalayam and ends in Ooty in Tamil Nadu. Dolphin's Nose Viewpoint is a must visit tourist spot in Coonoor, The Nilgiris District. It is located 10 kms from Coonoor centre so makes it easy to travel if are staying in Coonoor. The tip of the peak resembles a dolphin's nose, hence the name Dolphin's Nose. It is an enormous rock formation that is entirely unique.
