2025 Ourense Travel Guide: Must-see attractions, popular food, hotels, transportation routes (updated in June)

After hiking the Portugese Camino of the Coast from Portugal to Spain we took a train from Santiago to Ourense- a famous town know for its many hot springs along the Minho River. In the old town there are many streets with Tapas bars with passionate locals wanting you to try the pig ears for a euro. This list from Benedicto the Spaniard has been tried and tested. ✨In the cold winter, we need hot springs to warm up. Ourense, the hot spring city in Spain, is a good choice. Here, there are famous natural hot springs in Spain, and you can choose between free outdoor hot springs and affordable hot spring centers. 1⃣️Termas de Outariz Address: Lugar de Outariz S/N Ticket: 5.7 euros Recommend this Japanese-style hot spring center, with the best facilities, but crowded. 2️⃣ Termas A Chavasqueira Address: Campo da Feira S/N Ticket: 4.4 euros Due to a fire in April 2019, the reopening date is uncertain. The first one is the best one in the local area, with good environment, facilities, large area and excellent experience. Both indoor and outdoor are available, and the outdoor environment is more comfortable. The only drawback is that there are too many people. We went to the hot spring before sunset and didn't enter until 10 o'clock at night. While waiting, we can spend some time drinking and eating at the hot spring bar. Hot springs cannot be photographed, interested parties can check the official website. At night, watching the stars in the sky while soaking in a hot spring is the most enjoyable moment of this trip. My best friend and I shuttle through the outdoor hot springs filled with couples, looking a bit "shiny". We experience all the hot spring pools until we soak ourselves until we can't soak anymore, 2 hours is actually quite abundant, and we didn't need to soak for very long before we got all wrinkly. The second store has closed for renovation. We visited before the accident happened. It was small and the environment was also inferior, so I won't say much about it here. 🚂Transportation: Hot spring train, self-driving, rental. Hot Spring Mini Train (Plaza Mayor-Outariz) Take the small train to the hot springs and board near Plaza Mayor. The entire journey is about 6 kilometers and takes approximately 40 minutes. The train will stop at various hot spring stations along the way, and the one-way ticket price is 0.85 euros. Driving or taking a taxi is faster. There is a parking lot nearby if you drive. Taking a taxi from the city center is also not expensive. 🌟The city of Orense is not big, and the prices for food and lodging are friendly.
