Located along Chaozong Street, one of the only three remaining granite-slab streets in Changsha, this charming stay is surrounded by more than 300 years of history. What makes the area so special is that it isn’t simply a tourist attraction. It’s a neighbourhood where locals still live, work and gather every day. I enjoyed slowing down and exploring the old street, where you’ll find historic buildings, an old church, the former Shiwu Academy and the Kim Gu activity site. Around every corner, there’s something interesting to discover; from beautiful architecture and quiet lanes to cosy teahouses and hidden local eateries. It’s such a lovely place for a relaxing stroll, casual photos and a glimpse into the everyday life of old Changsha. The English-speaking butlers made my stay even more enjoyable. They provided an English “Local Life List” featuring noodle shops, traditional teahouses and late-night stalls that locals love. They can even help you plan a full day of exploring Changsha like a local! Back in the room, every detail felt carefully considered. There was Baisha ancient well water paired with Anhua dark tea, Le Labo toiletries, a Dyson hairdryer, a Marshall speaker and comfortable custom-made bedding. Even the room names are inspired by the history of Chaozong Street, giving every room its own unique story. And here’s something late risers will love; breakfast is served until 1pm! 😍 Warm late-night snacks can also be reheated when you return, which feels especially comforting after a long day of exploring. The location is super convenient too. Wuyi Square, Taiping Old Street and the Xiangjiang riverside are within walking distance, while Orange Isle and Yuelu Mountain are only a short drive away.
