Pulau Pangkor is a slice of tropical paradise, and for modern travelers who want convenience, spotless rooms, and warm service, Pangkor Pop Ash Hotel hits all the right notes. 🌴 Clean, stylish, and infused with an industrial-chic vibe, it’s a refreshing switch from the island’s classic chalet stays—making it a prime choice for those after both comfort and character!
Getting there is a breeze: located at Lot 105, Pasir Bogak, Pop Ash Hotel is steps away from taxi stations and local bus routes, plus offers ample parking if you’ve rented a vehicle. The compact size means you’re never far from the welcoming staff, who go above and beyond to offer local insights, arrange island transport, or handle early check-in so your vacation gets off to a relaxed start.🛎️
Rooms are sleek with cool wooden accents (perfect for that indoor shot—try the elevator’s textured walls in natural daylight for an understated “modern architecture” Insta moment📸). Facilities are practical—functional air-conditioning, comfy beds, and all the essentials for a fuss-free stay. The pool is a bonus, offering scenic views and a peaceful spot to unwind, though note that refrigerators aren’t in rooms and space runs on the smaller side.
While the prices can feel a touch high for the room size, it’s easy to justify for travelers who value spotless spaces and attentive service—plus, the boutique feel and easy access to cultural outdoor spots make this a great base for exploring Pangkor’s beaches, seafood stalls, and historic town center.
Book your stay easily via trip.com for the best rates and options. For a smooth itinerary, plan time to visit Pangkor Town, take a swim at Pasir Bogak Beach, and snap some cool photos at nearby temples. #Pangkor #BoutiqueHotel #CleanStay #MalaysiaTravel #ModernDesign

3 Days in Manjung & Pangkor: Beachfront Bliss, Pink Vans & Duty-Free Treats 🌅
Had the ultimate chill trip in Pulau Pangkor — a 3D2N escape where the beach is literally steps from your door! Stayed at Avillion Pangkor Beach Resort (PT1130, Jalan Pasir Bogak) — the location is 2 mins from Pasir Bogak Beach and close to local eats, shops, and those fun duty-free stores (yes, chocolate haul alert🍫).
Must-See & Do:
1. Pangkor Beach Watersport (Jalan Pasir Bogak, open 9am–6pm): Dive into jet skiing, banana boat rides, & sunsets that look killer in pics. Pro tip: head out just before sunset for unbeatable views.🚤
2. Pasir Bogak Beach: It’s tranquility central at sunrise and sunset — perfect for a morning stroll or when the sky glows pastel at dusk.
3. Duty-Free Shops: Pick up chocolates, unique plates, or bowls (great for souvenirs or snacks back at your hotel). You’ll find a cluster of them just off the main street.
Getting Around:
No Grab in Pangkor, but that’s half the fun! Hop on the island’s iconic pink vans to get anywhere. They’re quirky, affordable, and definitely photo-worthy. 🚐
Food Tip:
Check out the beachfront cafés and warungs near the hotel — fresh seafood, nasi goreng, and a mean coconut shake. Ask the staff for local recs; they’re super helpful.
Essentials:
Weather: It’s humid, pack light layers and extra sunblock.
Money: Have enough cash — smaller shops might not accept cards.
Local Hack: You can ask hotel to call pink van or rent motorcycle. it's just a small island around 12km maybe

Culture Uncovered🌳,
*Pulau Pangkor, Perak* — the perfect escape when you need a break but don’t want to fly too far 🌴🌊 Just a short ferry ride from Lumut, this peaceful island welcomes you with its charming kampung vibes, friendly locals, and calm, beautiful beaches 🐚☀️
I stayed near *Pantai Teluk Nipah*, where the sunsets are golden and the sand feels like soft flour under your feet 🌅👣. We rented a motorbike and rode along the scenic coastal road 🛵, stopping for fresh seafood 🦐, handmade souvenirs, and of course, iced coconut drinks 🥥.
Activities? Plenty! Snorkelling with colourful fish 🐠, banana boat rides for the thrill seekers 🍌💦, or even visiting the historical Dutch Fort 🏰. Don’t forget to snap a pic with the iconic *floating mosque* 🕌 and meet the friendly hornbills flying freely around the island 🐦✨
Pangkor isn’t loud or flashy — it’s peaceful, simple, and stunning. Just you, the sea, and time slowing down. Perfect for couples, solo getaways or chill trips with friends.
It’s underrated — but maybe that’s what makes it special 💗

Pangkor’s Hilltop Sanctuary: 🏞️ Fu Lin Kong Temple
#holidayitinerary #august2025 #travel #weekends
Tucked at the foot of Pangkor Hill, Fu Lin Kong Temple is the island’s largest Chinese temple and a serene retreat blending faith, culture, and breathtaking scenery.
✨ Main Temple Hall
The grand hall features Bodhidharma at its center, with intricate statues and murals that invite quiet reflection. It feels both majestic and calming, a space where history and spirituality meet.
🪷 Hillside Temple
A short walk up the mini Great Wall of China brings you to the upper temple, home to Kuan Yin, Lord Fu Hu, and the 18 Arhats. The climb itself is refreshing, but the real reward is the peaceful atmosphere at the top.
🌊 Scenic Views
From the hillside temple, you’re treated to sweeping views of the village rooftops and the glistening sea. It’s a perfect spot to pause, breathe deeply, and let the calmness refill your spirit.
💡 We loved how this temple offers more than just sightseeing — it’s a place to retreat, reflect, and reconnect with yourself while surrounded by nature’s beauty.

Ipoh's Summer Beaches
Ipoh may not immediately evoke the image of a coastal city, but just a one to two-hour drive from the city reveals hidden seaside gems reminiscent of the Ivory Coast: Pangkor Island and Teluk Batik, with their golden sandy beaches. These local beaches, where golden sands meet emerald waters, carry a blend of spice-laden breezes and the lively atmosphere akin to Penang. They serve as a metaphorical escape into nature for Ipoh residents.
What I appreciate most is the "time displacement" feeling of transitioning from the urban core to the coastline. In the mining town, you savor sugar-laden ice treats and coffee powder, and just beyond a hill lies the rhythmic whispers of the seaside. Teluk Nipah's gentle waves create a space for dialogue with the sea rather than conquest, while Pasir Panjang's panoramic views help recalibrate one's perspective on life amidst nature. These beaches are not mere extensions of Ipoh but rather a broader expression of the city's land. They teach us that the sea is not a distant landscape but a liberating breath that can only be truly felt after returning from the centrifugal pull of urban life.

Pangkor ⛅️
We spent a few peaceful days on Pangkor Island and it quickly became one of our favorite short getaways. The beaches, especially Nipah and Coral Bay, were quiet and clean, perfect for just laying back or taking a dip in the calm sea. We rented a motorbike and rode around the island, stopping at little roadside stalls, temples, and scenic viewpoints we loved how compact and easy it was to explore.
One of the highlights for us was visiting the Dutch Fort ruins and the nearby fishing villages, where we got a feel for the island’s slower, more traditional rhythm. We also tried fresh seafood at some local warungs it was simple, affordable, and incredibly good. Pangkor doesn’t try to impress with flash, but that’s exactly what makes it so easy to enjoy. It felt like a place where we could just switch off and take things slow.
