Secondly, to Kathmandu Durbar Square, the energy of the city was palpable. Surrounded by historic pagodas and palaces, I was particularly fascinated by the boudha, soyambhu monkey temple, home of living goddess, and the detailed artistry of Hanuman Dhoka Palace.I concluded my trip in Patan, a city renowned for its artistic heritage. Patan Durbar Square, with the stunning Krishna Mandir and its intricate stone carvings, left a lasting impression. The seamless blend of Hindu and Buddhist elements in the architecture was truly captivating. If I come to Nepal again, I would choose to stay in Patan rather than Kathmandu. It's much cleaner and quieter here, and tourists can stroll leisurely through the streets and alleys, experiencing the slow pace of life of the locals. Patan is located about 3 kilometers south of Kathmandu city and is the center of Mahayana Vajrayana Buddhism. The city's Golden Temple is a rectangular, three-tiered pagoda-style temple. From the roof, the large latticed windows between the eaves, to the walls below and the three large doors, all are covered with gilded copper products. The entrance fee is 100 rupees, and we entered through the back door where no one was watching. After visiting the temple, we voluntarily went to the front door to pay for our tickets. During our visit to the temple, we happened to witness drumming and singing, creating an exceptionally harmonious and sweet atmosphere. Breathing in the fragrance that filled the courtyard and watching the flickering candles, a sense of happiness and satisfaction emerged! The entrance fee for Patan Durbar Square is 1000 rupees, but it's actually quite easy to dodge the fee. Just go to the square around six or seven in the evening and enter through the small paths around it. There are entrances everywhere, and no one is there to check.

After landed at Tribhuvan International Airport, I accidentally met a new friend and we took a taxi to Patan. It's 1,200 NRP for the taxi and we get to Patan Durbar Square which is quite old, but incredible. I enjoy walking around on narrow road with so many cars and motorbike. #2023travelwish Patan Durbar Square is located in the city center of Lalitpur, Nepal, 5 Km. or around half an hour from Kathmandu (depends on the traffic). This is one of the World Heritage Site in Nepal where we have to visit. Entrance fee for Thailand is 250 RPs. (Entrance fee is vary and have to check at the entrance gate). There is a high restaurant on top of the building where is a great location to take photos and have a nice lunch. All ancient city here are mysterious and charming… Hope next year I can visit another mysterious city like Machu Picchu… : )

Lalitpur Patan is a town where I stayed because I mistakenly thought the address was Kathmandu 🤣 In Korea, the Patan area is a kind of cultural village? It seems to be a traditional village. There are a lot of ruins, cultural heritages, temples, etc. in Patan. In fact, when you walk, between houses, between shops, Some of them look like wells, or even small stone statues. They say they are all cultural heritages. Located in the hearth of the city's down town it is impossible to miss out this place. You can literally just walk from the hotel (if you are staying in the area). I came to Nepal with no expectation but left with tonnes of memories, deeper connections of ourselves and beautiful experiences. Many precious moments were filled with laughters, slowing down and inner peace.
