This exhibition is considered the largest ever held outside of Egypt, and many artifacts have never been displayed in Asia before. The exhibition tells the historical story through three themes:
1️⃣ THE LAND OF THE PHARAOHS
The first part of the exhibition begins with the creation myth, focusing on two key symbols of ancient Egyptian civilization: the temple and the pyramid. This zone presents an overview of ancient Egypt in various aspects, including cosmology, social systems, craftsmanship, hieroglyphics, religious beliefs, and burial rituals, covering the daily life and spirituality of the Egyptians.
2️⃣ THE SECRETS OF SAQQARA
Saqqara is home to the most important necropolis of Memphis and is also home to Egypt's first pyramid. This zone showcases important discoveries at Saqqara and chronicles the evolution of religious rituals, such as cat mummification, sacred animal worship, offerings to the goddess Bastet (the cat god), and the burial practices of priests who served her.
3️⃣ THE AGE OF TUTANKHAMUN
Pharaoh Tutankhamun died at the age of 19. His tomb was discovered in 1922. Over 5,000 artifacts have been excavated, most notably the golden mask, which has become one of the most recognizable symbols of ancient Egypt worldwide. This zone takes us back to the birth of the god Amun. and the reformation of Egypt's religion from monotheism back to polytheism. The exhibition also explores traditional beliefs during Tutankhamun's reign, giving us insight into Egyptian life in the 14th century BC.
