Seafood restaurant in front of Amanohashidate Station in Kyoto🇯🇵 Kairakuri is a seafood restaurant located in front of Amanohashidate Station in Miyazu City, Kyoto Prefecture, Japan. It is only a 1-minute walk from Kyoto Tango Railway Amanohashidate Station and has an extremely convenient location. This restaurant is located on the second floor of a seafood souvenir shop. Although it looks like an ordinary souvenir shop, the local fresh seafood dishes it provides, especially rock oysters and seafood donburi, are famous for their fresh ingredients, affordable prices and relaxed dining atmosphere. The store's interior decoration is simple and plain, with mainly wooden tables and chairs. The space is clean and tidy, with a strong seaside town style. The restaurant does not have an English menu, but there are pictures and food models. You can just point your finger at the waiter to tell him what you want to eat. Don't worry even if you don't understand Japanese. Chou Meizai first ordered a giant Japanese oyster (rock oyster) as an appetizer. The atmosphere was particularly charming. 📍 Day 3: Amanohashidate & Ine Funaya, experience the beauty of northern Kyoto Today we arrived in northern Kyoto and first headed to Amanohashidate, one of the three most scenic views in Japan. This long and narrow sandbar stretches across Miyazu Bay. The most classic way to enjoy it is to climb up to the observation deck and look at the scenery upside down. You will find that Amanohashidate is like a "dragon ascending to the sky." Afterwards, you can walk down to the sandbar and find a super beautiful beach with many people playing in the water. If you don’t want to go in the water, you can rent a bicycle, ride on the sandbar and enjoy the sea breeze. In the afternoon, we went to Ine Funaya, where we could take a boat to see the houses. The highlight was feeding the seagulls. The fun of interacting with the seagulls was unforgettable. The boat houses in Ine are all built directly on the seashore. The ground floor is a boathouse and the upper floor is a living space. It is a rare water fishing village landscape in Japan. You can also walk along the quiet seaside path and look at the wooden boat houses lined up along the coastline, which is a unique experience. 📍 Day 4: In-depth tour of Kyoto city Back in downtown Kyoto, we first visited two historic Buddhist temples - Higashi Honganji and Nishi Honganji. These two temples showcase different aspects of Japan's Pure Land Buddhism culture. There are relatively few tourists here, so it's a good idea to visit them right after leaving the hotel in the morning. Then we headed to Kinkaku-ji Temple. Although this golden temple was smaller than expected, it was as beautiful as a painting when reflected on the lake. Arrive at Arashiyama in the afternoon and first take the Arashiyama train to enjoy the magnificent valley scenery along the way. If I took the train, I would have had to transfer even from Osaka, so I chose a bus that would take me there in one go. I arrived in the morning, but there was a long line for the lift to the observation deck, so I recommend arriving early. The photo spot where you can look through your legs is a must-see. There are many tourist attractions and historical sites, including the pine trees of Amanohashidate and the opposite side of Amanohashidate, so I think it's best to stay for a day. Amanohashidate & Ine Travel Log Today's trip started with excitement because it was the day we were going to experience "One of the Three Best Views of Japan" at Amanohashidate and stop by the old fishing village at Ine. 🚅 Travel to Amanohashidate This morning, we took the Limited Express Hashidate No. 3 from Kyoto, heading to Amanohashidate. The journey took about 2 hours. The train passed through the countryside of Kyoto, gradually changing to a view of mountains alternating with rivers. The atmosphere was peaceful and refreshing. When we arrived at Amanohashidate Station, the air was cool and the sky was clear. We took a bus that stopped in front of Amanohashidate Eki to Ine, a fishing village hidden in nature. 🧭 Ine - Old Fishing Village Arriving at Ine felt like traveling back in time. This small and quiet village was lined with "Funaya" (boat houses) built by the sea. Each house had a lower floor as a ship storage warehouse and an upper floor as a residence. 🗺️ Shichimendou Temple We stopped by Shichimendou Temple, a small temple located on a hill. You can see the view of Ine Village and the vast sea. 🍱 Lunch at Restaurant Bar Nagisa It's lunch time. We choose to go to Alex's restaurant - Restaurant Bar Nagisa, which is located by the sea. The menu we ordered was fresh fish caught from the Sea of ​​Japan, served with hot Japanese rice and miso soup. It was slightly salty and had a fragrant smell of the sea. We signed up for a one-day tour for this trip, and gathered at Nihonbashi at 7 o'clock. Our hotel was in Shinsaibashi, one subway stop away, very convenient. The three places for the one-day tour are quite far apart, and it takes about 4 hours by car. We also have two children with us, so fortunately we can relax and sign up for a one-day tour. Amanohashidate, we were a little worried when we first heard that everyone had to sit in the cable car alone without seat belts, especially the children. But later on during the ride we found it very interesting. The cable car is actually very close to the ground, so there is no need to worry. Going out to sea to feed seagulls scared the child so much that his original expectation turned into hiding in his father's arms.
