Tucked away in a quiet corner of Jalan Chengai, this Japanese-inspired café is known for its striking concrete interiors, raw industrial charm, and minimalist wabi-sabi vibes. Stepping inside felt like entering a quiet art space — moody, calm, and beautifully understated. We kicked things off with the mentaiko tamago sando — thick, fluffy layers of tamago paired with a rich, savoury mentaiko mayo, all tucked between soft milk bread. It was creamy, umami-rich, and incredibly satisfying without feeling too heavy. Next came the truffle carbonara udon, a creative East-meets-West fusion dish that totally hit the spot. The udon had the perfect bite, coated in a silky, indulgent carbonara sauce with just the right hint of truffle, and topped with an onsen egg that brought everything together. For something sweet, we went with the houjicha basque cheesecake — and it was everything we hoped for. Smooth and lightly creamy, with a deep roasted tea flavour that wasn’t overly sweet, making it the ideal pairing for our drinks. Speaking of which, the strawberry matcha drink was both beautiful and refreshing. The slight tartness of the strawberry balanced out the earthy bitterness of the matcha, creating a layered sip that was as enjoyable as it was photogenic. We chose a 1-unit package with 3 bedrooms, which was very spacious and comfortable—perfect for a family vacation. The facilities were complete, the rooms were clean, and the peaceful resort atmosphere made our stay even more enjoyable. There were also plenty of activities and amenities, including a swimming pool, restaurants, and beautiful surroundings. Overall, it was a fantastic and worthwhile stay. The surrounding area has plenty of dining and shopping options, making it more enjoyable. We stayed in a Deluxe Room, which was spacious, clean, and beautifully designed with contemporary touches. Features minibars, flat-screens and complimentary Wi-Fi, plus tea and coffeemakers. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the city view from the window was stunning. The bathroom was well-appointed with quality amenities, and housekeeping did an excellent job maintaining the room daily. The staff were friendly, professional, and attentive. Check-in was smooth, and the concierge was helpful with recommendations for local sights. We really appreciated for their outstanding hospitality! The breakfast buffet at Flux Restaurant had a great variety of local and international dishes, all delicious and fresh. We also enjoyed drinks at Bar Amari, the cocktails were expertly crafted, and the ambiance was perfect for unwinding. ⏩ Great amenities include a trendy restaurant, a warm cafe and a bar next to an outdoor pool. The pool on the rooftop was a highlight, offering nice views of the city skyline. Beautiful place to walk and enjoy the nature and greenery, lakes, trees, swamps, playgrounds, orchids, all peaceful and well maintained. Perfect for picnic and family time.Luv it, huge place but tbh structure and design of layout abit interesting. Noticed that parks like these in JB are super limited. Would suggest to visit on non hot hours as sun is quite direct. Either earlier in the morning, later in the noon/evening. Lots of play ground for kids

I recently had the chance to stay at Capri by Fraser Johor Bahru, and it turned out to be a fantastic choice. Located just a short drive from the Causeway, it’s a perfect spot if you’re traveling between Singapore and Malaysia. The hotel’s location is incredibly convenient for those who need quick access to both countries. The room I stayed in was spacious and well-equipped. It had a comfortable king-size bed, a nice work desk, and a modern bathroom with a rain shower. What stood out was the kitchenette, which had a microwave and Nespresso coffee machine — a nice touch for longer stays or if you prefer to have some flexibility with meals. The hotel also offers a Club Lounge, where I had access to complimentary evening cocktails and canapés, which were a great way to relax and unwind after a busy day. The views from the lounge were pretty impressive too, giving a nice perspective of the city. In terms of dining, the breakfast buffet at the Club Lounge was decent, but the variety was a bit limited. Bing Bingsu Café – Super healing Korean shaved ice shop in Johor Bahru 🍨✨ This time I came to Bing Bingsu Café and the overall experience was very pleasant! The atmosphere of this shop is warm and comfortable, perfect for relaxing. Whether you come alone, with friends, or bring your family to enjoy dessert, this is a great place to go. I ordered a pancake that was slightly crispy on the outside, soft and moist on the inside, with a light milky flavor. It was delicious just on its own! Paired with fresh cream and honey, every bite is a taste of happiness The staff were friendly and attentive, making sure everything went smoothly during our meal. They also enthusiastically recommend their signature flavours, and the prices are very reasonable. In terms of high quality and large portions, the CP value is really high! This cafe also has a special design - the bookshelf area. For friends who like to read while eating dessert, this is a great relaxing space. In addition, there is a small children's play area, so parents don't have to worry about their children getting bored if they bring their children here, and they can relax and enjoy their dessert time. If you are a dessert lover or Bingsu ice cream fan, Bing Bingsu Café is definitely worth a try! #Share travel plan Share a travel plan for Malaysia KL-MELAKA-JOHORBHARU If anyone gets on a plane and lands at KL airport, you can rent a car from the airport and travel here. We will start from Johorbharu to Malacca and KL. Day 1: Legoland Johor Bharu Drive from KL for 4 hours. Legoland here is divided into 3 parts: rides, amusement park, aquarium and water park. I must say that the aquarium is not worth the price. But the other parts are okay. The only downside is that the weather is a bit hot. After entering Legoland, drive to Malacca because Malacca hotels are cheaper. The food is also cheaper. Day 2: Visit Malacca city at Dutch Square. Next to Dutch is Musium Samudera. The downside is that the weather is hot all year round. After taking pictures, go to sleep at a hotel in L. Day 3: Leave the hotel and go to Genting Amusement Park, both indoor and outdoor. The weather is good. The rides are fun. I am impressed. After playing, we went back to the hotel to rest again. Day 4: Merdeka, we traveled in KL city, we went to the KLCC Twin Towers, nearby there is Saloma Bridge where people come to take pictures, we went to Merdeka near the walking street, there is quite a lot of traffic in the city and it is hard to find parking, we had to park in the mall and walk around to take pictures at the places we marked. The guest room was spacious for 2 but a bit snug for 3. The shower had good pressure and steady hot water—no complaints there. No fridge, but the water dispenser near the lift kept us hydrated (and saved us from late-night drink runs). 📍 Café Stop – Coffee First, Always A quick 10-15 minute cab ride brought us to a lovely café, where we kicked off the afternoon with kopi + cakes. The cozy ambiance made it the perfect place to unwind before diving into our evening plans. 📍 Japanese Dinner Dinner was a feast at a hidden Japanese gem. Every bite was pure joy, especially when paired with a smooth bottle of Umeshu. Full and satisfied!! 😊 📍 Bar Hopping – Cocktails, Laughs & Late-Night Vibes A night of bar hopping ~ First up—a sleek cocktail bar with dim lighting, plush seats & mixologists —-started with a classic old fashioned, moved on to creative concoctions that were as pretty as they were potent. This is the most major bus terminal in Kuala Lumpur and many buses depart from here. It's just a few train stops away from Kuala Lumpur Station! 2️⃣Buy Bus Tickets Tickets can be purchased directly at the ticket counter inside the bus terminal or booked online. Popular bus companies include "S&S International", "Transnasional" and "Larkin Sentral". Tickets are often sold out, so I personally highly recommend buying them online in advance! 3️⃣Bus Travel Time The travel time from Kuala Lumpur to Johor Bahru is approximately 4 to 5 hours. Be careful, as there are often no toilets on the bus! Some buses offer comfortable seats, Wi-Fi, drinks, and other services. 5️⃣Arrival in Johor Bahru The bus arrives at the Larkin Sentral Bus Terminal in Johor Bahru. Our day started bright and early around 8 am with a trip to Gim Cheng Dim Sum. This place is a must-visit for authentic Malaysian-style dim sum. Everything is made fresh in the morning, and you can taste the difference! We savored a variety of steamed and fried dumplings, a delicious way to kick off our day. After a satisfying breakfast, we headed to Mid Valley Southkey mall. It's a great place for a leisurely stroll and some window shopping. We weren't looking for anything specific, just enjoying the atmosphere and browsing the various stores. It's a spacious mall, perfect for a comfortable walk. Lunchtime rolled around, and we were ready for a treat at Bao Jun Hotpot. This buffet-style hotpot restaurant offers a modern setting and a wide variety of ingredients. A bonus was the senior citizen discount, which my mom appreciated. We enjoyed a delicious and interactive meal, choosing our favorite ingredients and cooking them to our liking. Following lunch, we took a break at Beautea for some refreshing fruit tea and bubble tea. It was the perfect pick-me-up after our meal. We relaxed and chatted while enjoying our drinks, a sweet little pause in our day. We continued our shopping and walking at Mid Valley Southkey before making our way to JB City Square. Our stomachs were starting to rumble again, so we decided to have dinner at Canton-i Restaurant. They serve up delectable Cantonese delights. We ordered roasted duck noodles and some more dim sum – a perfect way to round out our culinary journey for the day. The best part of this trip was its simplicity. We weren't rushing around trying to cram too much into one day. We took our time, enjoyed each other's company, and savored the good food. By 8 pm, we were back at customs and crossing back into Singapore, tired but happy with our mini-adventure.
