Quito, a World Heritage city 🇪🇨

Quito, the capital of Ecuador, is a high mountain city located at an altitude of 2850m. When I arrived at Quito Airport, I was worried about altitude sickness, so I decided to take it easy on the first day. It is recommended to not move around too much and take things slowly until you get used to the high altitude. Quito's old town is a World Heritage Site, and there are many tourist attractions. Among them, the Voto National Cathedral was overwhelming with its beautiful carvings down to the smallest detail. You can climb this tower and get a panoramic view of the city of Quito. I also visited Independence Square. There are historical buildings around the square, and many tourists gathered there. About 40 minutes by bus north of Quito is the Equator Monument. I was able to actually stand on the equator, which was a very interesting experience. There is a museum inside the memorial where you can learn about Ecuador's history and indigenous culture.
