Tree to Table - Tangerine Picking in Jeju
#wheretogo
In addition to exploring the scenic attractions of Jeju, there's a delightful activity that you can do - tangerine picking. This is an enjoyable experience that the whole family can relish.
Jeju Island boasts numerous orange farms, and during our visit, we decided to venture to the one nearest to our hotel - Bong Bong Orange Farm. Not only was it an economical choice, but it also had an impressive reputation among visitors. We were fortunate to time our trip during the tangerine picking season, as had we arrived just a week earlier, we would have missed out on this opportunity entirely.
At the orange farm, there's a charming café that serves delectable tangerine-flavoured coffee and desserts. It provided the perfect setting to unwind after spending a morning plucking fresh oranges.
The cost of this wonderful experience is 5000 won, and while you're picking tangerines, you're welcome to eat as many as you want. Moreover, should you wish to take some of these oranges home, 1kg of oranges costs just 2500 won. It's truly a great value for the experience!
It's worth noting that during the autumn season, you can only pick Noji tangerines. If you have your heart set on Hallabong, you'll need to plan your visit between mid-December and mid-January.
Fun fact: The farm is named after the owner's Golden Retriever! 🐶
