Lake Braies is the national park and you can enjoy to ride the boat 🛶 along the lake and it could takes 30 mins. It is not a big lake so that we decided to walk around the lake in order to get different angles of the view. It is so amazing experience with the beautiful nature and good breeze. For us, it took 1:30hr to finish to explore around the lake. There are also hotels next to the lakes and restaurants. From the Milan with the car, it took 4.5 hrs driving.

If it is a cloudless blue sky, the lake presents a beautiful sapphire blue, like a piece of jade embedded in the mountains. As the terrain continues to rise, the full view of Lake Braies gradually appears before my eyes, but there are always trees blocking the way, trying to disturb my sight. Lake Braies is a typical glacial lake with an average depth of more than 10 meters. It is one of the deepest lakes in the Dolomites. As the depth in the center of the lake deepens, the lake surface gradually changes from the emerald green in the corner to blue-green. Under the influence of wind and cruise ships, the lake surface is constantly rippling.

2 Lakes of the Dolomites, Italy The Dolomites are a large mountain range in Northern Italy, perfect for nature lovers like us. At first, I didn't think that Italy would have such beautiful nature. And the unique shape of the Dolomites' rocky mountains stands out in every city that covers the Dolomites. And another highlight of visiting Northern Italy in the Dolomites is the lakes, which I can say that each one is equally beautiful. The highlight of each place is the color of the water and the background view of the Dolomites. In this post, I'd like to share 2 highlighted lakes. 1. Lake Misurina Located not far from Cortina d'Ampezzo, it's an easy, comfortable drive-through route. There's a parking lot where you can get off and take pictures or sit and relax while enjoying the view of the lake. The highlight is that the lake overlooks a yellow hotel, standing out below a valley in one of the Dolomites. We can walk around the lake, enjoy the view and breathe in the fresh air all day long. There are also many restaurants, hotels, and souvenir shops around. I slept by the lake for 1 night, and enjoyed the view all day long. 2. Lake Braies It is not far from Lake Misurina. The highlight of Lake Braies is the color of the water, which is very clear blue. You can see the gradient of the water color according to the depth and shallowness of the water. This gives us an amazing view of the gradient of the water color. The water of the lake is still, so taking pictures will make it look like a mirror. At Lake Braies, tourists like to paddle a boat in the middle of the lake and take beautiful pictures back. When I walked into the lake, I was shocked because it was so amazing. I visited there in the afternoon and the view at dusk was amazing. But make sure to bring warm clothes. It gets a little cold at night. At sunrise, Lago do Braies feels like it lives inside my laptop wallpaper. The perfect turquoise blue water reflecting all the details of the surrounding mountains. From this little wooden boat, I realized that I love the mountains on the beach. (Well, if only I could get to them without having to climb too far. I love the beach too. Lago di Braies is a popular lake in the Dolomites. Just after 9 o'clock in the morning, the lakeside was already crowded with people. Since the area has entered Alto Adige, the German-speaking area, the road names are marked in Italian and German on the road signs, and in some places the local dialect is used. In German, Lake Brayers is called Pragser Wildsee, which means wild lake. Lake Brayes is surrounded by mountains, so the lake water reflects the beautiful scenery of the mountains. There are shops on the lakeside that rent small wooden boats. The rental price is 35 euros per hour and 20 euros for half an hour. Visitors can row the boats themselves. It is recommended to arrive at the lake before 8:30 in the morning, firstly to avoid queuing for boat rentals, and secondly because if there are too many people, the lake will become less calm and you will not be able to enjoy the beautiful reflections. After returning the boat, visitors can receive two postcards for free in the hut next to the exit.
