They call Cortina ‘Pearl of the Dolomites’ and it truly is ! located in Italy - Veneto region, not too far from Venice (2.30 hours by car). landscape is amazing. and you don’t need to be a mountaineer to enjoy it as there are also easier routes for trekking besides climbing. ideal spot for skiing in winter , very popular. many hotels and rental houses. you can also go by camper as there is a camping area very well equipped. what I love about this place is the colors of the mountains which turns pink during sunset. cortina will be also the place of Winter Olympics in 2026. definitely should add it to your wish list !!

Croda da Lago is a group of mountains part of the Dolomiti 🏔 It is south of Cortina d'Ampezzo in northen Italy. There are several paths you can follow to reach the top that start from different areas. Walking uphill to the top of the mount you will find this amazing view on Lake Federa. Next to it is the rifugio (lodge) Croda da Lago where you can taste local specialities and get a coffee before you head back. Don't be surprised if you see some donkeys too! They are friendly and are used to see many people around ☺️ The way to the top is amazing and not too difficult. We enjoyed a lot these sights! #mountainview

Before my trip, I planned to visit Alpe di Siusi, Seceda, Santa Maddalena, Soprabolzano, and Lake Carezza. However, I ended up visiting Alpe di Siusi, Seceda, and Soprabolzano. ♥️Eastern Dolomites The main base city is Cortina d’Ampezzo, but I chose Dobbiaco due to its more affordable accommodation. My planned destinations included Cinque Torri, Tre Cime, Lake Misurina, Lake Braies (Lago di Braies), Lake Dobbiaco, and cycling across the Austrian border. Take a 15-minute ride on the cable car located on the outskirts of Cortina d'Ampezzo to reach an altitude of 2,120 meters. Once you get off the cable car and look around, you will be surrounded by mountains with an incredible view. From there, you can take a lift further up to the summit. The mountain scenery in Cortina d'Ampezzo in August was magnificent! There is also a bar where you can have a drink and enjoy the view at your leisure. On the way back, you have the option to walk to the Cristallo Mountain lift station. The trail is well-maintained through a forested area and takes about an hour of hiking. It only took 2 hours to get to this photo spot. The view of the mountain is right next to the road. We drove past and stopped to take some photos.
