Cao Bang our country ❤️
-Day 1: Nearby places (about 50km or less) - North
After arriving at 5:30, I rested for 1 hour, then went to have breakfast. In the morning, I went to Thang Hen Lake and Thung Mountain (on the way back from the lake, there was a shortcut, and I got a beautiful view).
In the afternoon, I went to Pac Bo, Lenin Stream. (Don't come back late like me, I was the last person to leave Pac Bo, I started from there around 7:30, the pass road was dark and it was raining so it was quite dangerous)
In the evening, I went to Kim Dong walking street
-Day 2: Ban Gioc Waterfall is my goal - East
Experience Ma Phuc Pass, Nguom Ngao Cave (I didn't go), Truc Lam Zen Monastery, Ban Gioc Waterfall.
All on the same route
On the way back, I got caught in a heavy rain, it was dark and visibility was no more than 3m, I couldn't open my eyes and had to take shelter. If you go at night and get caught in the rain, you MUST stop and take shelter because it's very dark, if you see a car going in the opposite direction with its high beams, you'll be blind, and if you can't determine the direction on the pass, you'll easily fall into a ditch and crash (the pass road is full of curves).
-Day 3: Remote places - West
Phja Oac National Park, this place is not famous, few people go, and it's the most difficult part of the road. It's super deserted, the rain is super heavy, so I'm a bit scared. That day, I was the only one who went there (everyone else went half way and turned back). It's also the worst part of the journey (a bit worse than other places). The downside is that the mountain is high, so it rains very heavily, plus the steep road, wind and rain, you don't know which way to go. Traveling nearly 70km and getting caught in the rain is a waste. The advantage is that if you get to the top, you will have an extremely impressive panoramic view, the second highest peak in Cao Bang. If you can arrange the time, you should go to this place, you can put it on the priority list later.
Next is Khau Coc Tra Pass. It's also very far but worth going. On the 3rd day, it rained heavily all day so I only went to Phja Oac and then returned. You have to go to this pass on a sunny day, if it rains a little bit, you can't climb it (climb up to the check-in point). So I missed this place and had to return early.
This journey of mine was very tiring, because I went a lot and in many different directions, so I always came back late and got caught in the rain, but it was completely worth it because of the beautiful scenery.
