When it comes to Christmas, Santa Claus is of course the main character. But did you know that there is a group of mysterious elves helping him out, bringing joy to everyone in Finland? This Christmas, Tonttu, the traditional Finnish Christmas elf, will change his usual low-key style and make a grand entrance into East Point City in Tseung Kwan O, making his debut in Hong Kong to bring Hong Kong people a happy Christmas full of Nordic traditions, and take everyone on a Christmas archaeological journey in a log-style museum.
From November 12, 2022 to January 1, 2023, East Point City will present a unique Christmas archaeological experience with the theme of Christmas + History, creating "HOHOHO! Amazing Christory Museum!". Everyone will transform into an archaeologist and travel through the log-style Christmas museum full of Nordic atmosphere. Under the guidance of Tonttu, they will explore 6 eye-catching archaeological check-in spots. The classic arrangements and decorations that evoke sweet Christmas memories will be enlarged and displayed on the site, allowing everyone to walk into the Nordic country from the perspective of elves while searching for the most traditional origins of the Christmas holiday. Through AR, everyone can see a group of elves dancing to celebrate Christmas, just like walking into a Nordic fantasy park. In addition, East Point City will also launch a variety of log-style Christmas products for redemption, bringing you Christmas gifts that are both classic and full of Nordic flavor.
Tonttu, the elf from Finland, brought the traditional culture of his hometown, the kantele, to East Point City. Through music, he led everyone to trace the local customs together, so that everyone in Hong Kong can feel the Finnish tradition and festive atmosphere. As a woodcarver, Tonttu also wants to experience the art of Christmas woodcarving with everyone. It has teamed up with the local youth cultural and creative recycled wood art brand Dosha Woodcraft to hold a rotten wood workshop on site, and also held a "rotten wood rebirth investigation tour" to let everyone understand the process of recycling waste wood. Together with everyone, they can perform magic to turn rotten wood into something magical, and upcycle it into small household items, so that everyone can have a meaningful Christmas.
6 Christmas archaeological installations: Review Christmas traditions with the elves and immerse yourself in a Nordic fantasy world
The Tonttu wood-carved elf dolls, produced by the Finnish creative team Silas Tonttukylä, have a history of more than 30 years. Each wood-carved elf represents the traditional Finnish Christmas culture and is popular all over the world. According to legend, the elf Tonttu originally lived in a rural area of Finland. He would take care of farm animals while people slept and quietly guard the villagers. Later, the villagers moved to the city one by one, so a group of elves moved in to live with Santa Claus and continued to send blessings to mankind in another way.
"HOHOHO! Amazing Christory Museum!" brings together a variety of classic Tonttu wood sculptures. When you enter the museum, you can see a group of cute elves warmly welcoming guests. Everyone will transform into archaeologists, wandering between the 6-meter-high Tonttu Elf Christmas Tree and the 3-meter-high gingerbread man, reviewing various Christmas traditions with the elves, and counting down to Christmas together, awakening precious memories of this festival celebrated by the world! In order to push the Christmas atmosphere to the highest point, the elves quietly rehearsed in secret and presented Christmas performances to everyone through AR, making everyone feel as if they were in a Nordic Christmas wonderland. Tonttu from Finland brought a kantele from his hometown to let Hong Kong friends experience Finnish culture through music workshops. During the Christmas holiday, he performed for everyone, allowing everyone to immerse themselves in the moving Christmas music.

6-meter-high Tonttu Elf Christmas Tree
In order to let everyone have a joyful Christmas, Tonttu, wearing his signature red pointed hat, and his elf friends carefully selected various traditional Christmas decorations that are familiar to both children and the elderly, and worked together to piece together a 6-meter-tall Christmas tree, ready to take photos with everyone. The giant Christmas tree installation consists of many classic red, green and white Christmas balls, nearly 10 Christmas trees hung with decorations, as well as Christmas bells, gingerbread men and other ornaments. The top of the tree is decorated with a shining giant yellow star. The most special thing about the Christmas tree is that it has multiple clocks stopped at different times, symbolizing that Christmas brings equally precious memories to different eras.
3-meter-high wooden giant Christmas gingerbread baby
When talking about traditional Christmas delicacies, how can we forget gingerbread men? The elf carefully made a 3-meter-tall Christmas gingerbread baby on the snow. The red cheeks and innocent smile are enough to melt people's hearts and make people reluctant to eat it. The elves also thoughtfully prepared magnifying glasses so that the archaeological experts could carefully examine the gingerbread man.
CHRISTORY Giant Christmas Magic Clock
If you could have the magic to stop time, which moment would you like to stay in? Tonttu built a giant wooden desk clock with an elegant shape. The hands of the clock will slowly turn, allowing archaeologists to slowly capture the happy moments of the festive season with their loved ones.
Giant Christmas Hourglass
Counting down on Christmas Eve with loved ones or lovers is a fond memory for many people. The two Tonttus held poetry scores and hand bells respectively, and stood on both sides of the giant hourglass to play Christmas music, hoping to attract archaeological specialists to count down to Christmas together this year and add more unforgettable Christmas memories.
Christmas Discovery Library
The walls are filled with Christmas atmosphere and are decorated with Christmas-themed artworks. Next to them is a large stack of reference books with Christmas tree patterns on the scattered pages. Tonttu carefully consulted Christmas decorations over the years to find the most representative Christmas images and took great pains to design this Christmas museum. Through a 4-meter-high giant magnifying glass, Tonttu takes you through the Nordic-style aurora powder snow world to check in.
Miniature Finnish Elf Village
The entire Finnish village is condensed into a miniature Christmas installation. Every cute Tonttu in the village is busy helping Santa Claus prepare for Christmas. Some are busy decorating the Christmas tree, and some are busy wrapping Christmas gifts. Can you find out how many Tonttu there are in the village?
