The Da Baoen Temple Ruins Attraction was officially opened to the public in 2015. It is now a national first-class museum and a national key cultural relic protection unit. It focuses on the research, protection, interpretation and display of the ruins, and provides a variety of experiences for education, appreciation, deep thinking and knowledge sharing. The Attraction is located in Changganli, the birthplace of Nanjing City, and is built on the archaeological site of the Da Baoen Temple in the Ming Dynasty in China. The origin of the Da Baoen Temple can be traced back to the beginning of pagodas and temples in southern China during the Eastern Wu period. Over the past thousand years, it has been repeatedly abandoned and rebuilt, and the name of the temple has also been changed many times. In the tenth year of Yongle (1412), Emperor Zhu Di of the Ming Dynasty ordered the Ministry of Works to expand the site and build the Great Baoen Temple and the nine-story glazed pagoda, which is known as the "No. 1 Pagoda in the World". The glazed pagoda of the Great Baoen Temple is known as "the greatest antique in China and the greatest kiln ware of Yongle", and is a great miracle in the history of Chinese and world architecture. In the second half of the 17th century, the glazed pagoda was introduced to Europe, where Westerners called it the "Nanjing Porcelain Pagoda" and regarded it as a landmark building of Chinese culture.
