It may seem difficult to stay at a quality hotel with children, but the staff at Grand Park Otaru were extremely hospitable and helpful with all my questions. 🥺 It was a wonderful experience, so let me introduce it to you! First of all, children can enter the club lounge. The atmosphere becomes much more adult-like in the evening, so we went with our children for a little while from 3pm. They served drinks in children's cups, and cut seasonal fruits into small pieces so that children could easily eat them. 🍎 When we went to have teppanyaki dinner, we looked for a babysitting service and used it, but they prepared a large private room right next to us, so we could enjoy a leisurely conversation with my husband and the chef, knowing that we could go and see them right away. 🥺 The children also seemed to be crazy about the delicious Shiraoi beef. 🥩 For breakfast, they prepared a large seat on the side, so we could eat a delicious breakfast in a relaxed atmosphere without bothering other customers. 🥐 I always think, "This was a great hotel." Very convenient and 1 stop to Otaru Musical Box Museum with 7 min walk. Many things to see in Otaru but most of the shops will be closed at 6pm. Aeon is just next to the hotel within the same building. Easy to access and buy grocery or food.

Photos one to three were taken from the window in the morning. The Otaru Chikko Station, where hotel direction signs make it easy to find your way. The hotel is conveniently located for visiting Otaru's canal area via JR, and it's also easy to travel to Sapporo. One afternoon, we took a spontaneous shopping trip to Sapporo. If hotels in Sapporo are expensive during holidays, staying here is a good alternative. The JR train from Sapporo to Otaru runs until 11:50 PM. The hotel is an older star-rated establishment, as shown in photo seven of the lobby. While the facilities aren't new, they are well-maintained and very clean, making for a comfortable stay. The rooms are spacious since it's not located in the city center. Each floor has an ice room with free ice and vending machines selling drinks. Additionally, the hotel is connected to a large local shopping mall and a big Aeon supermarket. The mall has a small-town feel with a wide range of categories, though not very fashionable. It only takes 45 minutes to reach Hokkaido via Tokyo by domestic flight. After landing, we took the JR express to Otaru Chikko. The snow scenery along the train was very beautiful. Staying at the Grand Park Otaru Hotel next to the port, the room is spacious and well-lit, making you feel comfortable and relaxed. There is an Aeon supermarket in the shopping mall downstairs where you can buy local ingredients.
