Let's take a boat to Jesselton Point Waterfront for this trip!!✈️
🛄ㅣJesselton Point Waterfront🚢
When I traveled to Kota Kinabalu, I felt like just walking without any special plans that morning. The weather was clear and the sky was blue, and I naturally headed to Jesselton Point Waterfront because I wanted to walk near the sea~🚢
Jesselton Point is close to the city center, so I could get there quickly on foot. As I slowly walked along the road, I soon saw the entrance to the waterfront, and a large sign that said 'WELCOME TO JESSELTON POINT' caught my eye. As I passed that sign, I felt like I had entered a completely different world.
The waterfront was not as large as I thought, but it felt very cozy and organized. Around the entrance, there were buildings and murals painted in vivid primary colors, and each of them was very impressive. Various animals, Kota Kinabalu's ocean scenery, smiling people, and other pictures were painted on the walls, so it felt like walking through an outdoor art exhibition.
There were many people taking pictures, but I didn't take out my camera on purpose and just wanted to look at them for a long time and feel each one. As I walked slowly and admired the murals, I felt really peaceful and relaxed for a short time!!🙏
When you enter the pier, there is a road leading to the sea. As you walk along the road, there are large and small boats anchored on the right, and small shops and souvenir shops lined up on the left. Many people were waiting for boats to Sapi Island or Gaya Island, and some were just getting off the boats. I just walked slowly, watching the scenery from afar. The smell of the sea, the sound of the boat cutting through the waves, the laughter of children, and the occasional voices of locals, all blended together to create a very natural background music~✌️
I didn't go out to the island on a boat. I didn't have a plan, and that day I just wanted to see the sea. When I walked to the end of the dock, I saw small islands spread out far out on the sea, the horizon, and the gentle waves sparkling with sunlight. At that moment, I didn't need to say anything. My mind became really quiet, and I just stood there blankly and stared for a long time.
In particular, the sea breeze felt really good. It wasn't too strong, and it was a gentle breeze that blew with the slightly warm sunlight. When I closed my eyes and let the wind take over my body for a moment, I felt like all the tension in my body was gone.🌊
People were buying drinks and taking pictures around me, but I intentionally didn't buy anything. I didn't drink coconut drinks or eat food. Just walking, looking, and sitting quietly was enough.
I sat on a bench on one side and spent some time looking at the island in the distance. The clouds passing by, the birds flying over the sea, and even the leisurely expressions of the locals fishing... All of these scenes remain in my heart like one long scene~🫠
