It is a straight waterfall that flows down the basalt lava flow that flowed out when the Hachikuboyama scoria cone in the Izu Eastern Volcanic Group erupted 17,000 years ago. It has a drop of 25m, a width of 7m, and a depth of 15m at the bottom of the waterfall. It is said that the name "Joren Falls" comes from the fact that there used to be a temple called "Jorenji" near the left bank of the waterfall. Next to the waterfall is a monument to the song "Amagigoe" by enka singer Ishikawa Sayuri, a hit song.
