Nagoya Breakfast Culture Experience|Morning-Gu at Kako Coffee Shop.
When traveling to Nagoya, you definitely can't miss the famous 'Morning' culture! This time, I stayed at ibis Styles Nagoya and specifically went to Kako Coffee Shop near the hotel in the morning to experience the authentic Morning-Gu breakfast. It did not disappoint!
Nagoya's Unique Breakfast Culture
Nagoya's 'Morning' culture means that when you order a drink at a coffee shop, you get a complimentary breakfast (usually toast and eggs). This is a very distinctive local tradition. Kako is a popular coffee shop known for its homemade jam toast and high-quality coffee, attracting many locals and tourists.
Morning-Gu Experience at Kako
This time, I chose to upgrade to the homemade jam toast, and it was absolutely worth it! The toast was thick and fluffy, topped with various homemade jams from the shop. Each bite was filled with rich fruit flavors, sweet but not overwhelming. Besides the toast, there were also basic side dishes like Japanese boiled eggs, simple yet satisfying.
Of course, the coffee here is also excellent. The coffee was rich and aromatic, perfectly complementing the sweet jam toast, making the breakfast even more perfect.
Conclusion
If you want to experience the most authentic breakfast culture in Nagoya, Kako is definitely a great choice! I recommend everyone to try the Morning-Gu here, especially their jam toast, which is really worth a try. Next time I come to Nagoya, I would want to come again!
