The art museum on Changning City's Green Square allows you to enjoy exhibitions as well as stroll through the park
📍 Passing by Yan'an West Road, I walked into the Liu Haisu Art Museum for the first time since its reopening in 2016. The location and venue of the art museum are excellent, after all, it is situated between the expensive Wuyi Road and Yan'an West Road in Changning District. The exhibition halls inside are spacious and bright, with five floors and multiple galleries.
📍 On the first floor, there is a special exhibition with two galleries showcasing print works from three generations of old, middle-aged, and young artists. The works demonstrate modern innovation, and the young artists' pieces strive to present a connection between the past, present, and future. Behind the display boards in the lobby, there are text images and video introductions of the authors' works, and the 'Fu' character posters from the New Year period are still on display.
📍 On the second floor, there is an exhibition of calligraphy and paintings by staff of the Shanghai Cultural and Tourism Bureau. The traditional Chinese calligraphy and painting works are truly stunning, with many pieces that can be considered masterpieces, especially the paintings that won second and third prizes.
📍 On the third floor, there are portraits of Liu Haisu, Mr. Liu Haisu's biography, the history of Shanghai Art College, a list of students from Shanghai Art College, and the history of the Liu Haisu Art Museum. The permanent exhibition is called 'Hundred Rivers Converge into the Sea', symbolizing the fusion of Chinese and Western cultural exchanges in a city like Shanghai.
