Different regions have distinct flavors, driven not only by the ingredients but also by the meat. Common characteristics include cooking the rice in broth, adding spices, meat, vegetables, and dried fruit, and ensuring the rice grains separate rather than cling together. Besh Qozon, a magnificent multi-story restaurant, is renowned for its authentic Uzbek pilaf. On the ground floor, chefs stir giant pots of pilaf, drenched in grease and topped with tender chunks of meat. I ordered local bread, a plate of lamb pilaf, a few slices of horse sausage, and some dill salad to cut through the fat. The food arrived incredibly quickly, and the presentation lived up to its name. The pilaf was tender, and the carrots, rice, and raisins were fragrant—a truly delicious experience. #SeptemberGoodPlaces2025 Address: Tafakkur ko'chasi 57, Toshkent, Toshkent This is the Uzbek Central Market. Its exterior is a relic of the Soviet era, with a magnificent dome. Now used as a market, the vendors neatly display their produce. On the second floor, there's a nut stall. It's quite pleasant to browse, but I recommend checking prices before making any purchases. It's a great local market; if you have time, check it out. They sell local essentials at affordable prices.

We stopped at the restaurant “Cafe 1991” after a walk, so we were not wearing restaurant clothes at all: sweatshirts, jeans, sneakers. The men in the restaurant were in suits, and the women were in evening dresses. Although it was only 4 pm. 📍7 Mustakillik, Tashkent Uzbekistan Inside the restaurant, you could choose one of the rooms and sit in it together. There was dim lighting everywhere and light music was playing. But we decided to choose a table on the terrace, so I was a little embarrassed by our appearance. 🍹 From drinks, we chose beer and lemonade. To go with the drinks, we ordered an appetizer of Sambuski with cheese. Special tongs were served with the dish. 🍲 My main course was Chicken roll with prunes and dried apricots in a crispy breading. Chicken roll was served with mashed potatoes and BBQ sauce. The presentation here is amazing - I have never seen such a beautiful presentation of mashed potatoes. 🍢 The second hot dish we chose was Beef medallions with potatoes. New potatoes were served with a creamy onion sauce. Beef tenderloin was served with a sweet sauce. The meat was very tender, well-done, and melted in the mouth. Tashkent Airport, the gateway to Uzbekistan ✈️ If you arrive early and want to relax, we recommend the Anjir Business Lounge. It's located on the second floor of the airside area, next to Gates B5-B11. It's a small airport, so it's easy to find! The high-speed train Abrashav connects Tashkent and Samarkand, which are about 300 km apart, in 2.5 hours. The highest temperature on the day of the trip was 42°C in June, but the air conditioning was on and the car was comfortable✨ The shaking was about the same as on Japanese express trains, the seats were wide and the seats in front were wide, and there were also power outlets. There are economy, business and VIP seats, and I chose the business seats because they were only about 1,500 yen more expensive than the economy seats, but the hospitality was amazing❤️ In addition to free snack sets such as cupcakes, there is also a hot tea wagon service⭐️ The nice thing is the on-board sales😊 A huge selection of fruits and ice cream for about 200 yen♪ I asked, but there was no beer😂 It seems that there is wine in the dining car🍷 The toilets are spacious and clean. Both Tashkent Station and Samarkand Station have plenty of air-conditioned waiting seats😊 The stained glass and chandelier decorations at Samarkand Station are especially worth seeing✨ What surprised me was that Tashkent Station has an alcohol counter selling vodka and beer🍺 Although 90% of the country is Muslim, you can see that they are tolerant of alcohol. The toilets at the station were free and squatting toilets like Japanese style toilets, but there was a mountain of toilet paper and it didn't feel clean. (Samarkand also had Western style toilets) There was paper, but it was stiff 😅 There was Wi-Fi, so I tried to connect, but I couldn't because I needed a phone verification in Uzbekistan. Magic City in Tashkent is a great theme park with strong security, where luggage is checked upon entry. 🥳 It has buildings modeled after Registan Square in Samarkand, city areas from around the world such as Paris and London, a nostalgic amusement park, many restaurants, and even a shopping mall. ⭐️ It also sells Uzbek miscellaneous goods and crafts, so it is recommended for tourists. ✨ It can be used regardless of the weather, as it has indoor facilities as well as outdoor facilities. ♪ It seems that there is no alcohol. There is also a lawn, fountain, and benches, so you can take a relaxing break. There is no trash, and you can see that it is well-cleaned. 👍 Admission is free, but the attractions cost money. The entrance fee to the aquarium is 120,000 som. 100 som is about 1.2 yen, so about 1,400 yen. If you want to take photos, you will need an additional 30,000 som. This price is high for Uzbekistan, where prices are low, but it is one of only two countries in the world that has no sea and all the surrounding countries are landlocked, so aquariums are a rare find 🐟 It was a wonderful aquarium with shiny glass and a large tank with sharks, a beautiful tank like a temple, and a tank with graceful jellyfish ❤️ The zip line was 50,000 soum. Flying direct from Guangzhou to Tashkent, with no specific plans, just a casual city walk to explore this city. Stop 1⃣️ ⛪️Cathedral of the Assumption of the Virgin The blue cathedral, photography is not allowed inside. The exterior is very beautiful, and the interior is exquisite. If you’re not in a hurry, you can spend half an hour here. Stop 2⃣️ 🌳Mavi Gümbezler Hiyabanı A park near the Kosmonavtlar metro station. Before 3 PM, there are many second-hand stalls selling some old collectibles. If interested, you can browse for treasures. There are also many second-hand book stalls. Stop 3⃣️ 🚇Metro Station Check-in People say Tashkent’s metro stations have a Soviet aesthetic, but I might have to question that. In my opinion, Stockholm’s metro is true art. Of course, experiencing the former Soviet style is still worthwhile (although I think Kyiv’s is more Soviet). There are two types of metro cars: the old trains have no air conditioning and feel similar to Mexico City’s; the new trains are very clean and remind me of Medellín’s.
