If you’re heading to Phnom Penh and you want to see a glimpse of Cambodia’s history you need to check out the national museum. It’s really close to the palace so you can get both done in a morning of an afternoon. It is $10 entry for foreigners, just tell them your home country (I didn’t need my passport but I know some people have been asked for it before, so take it just incase!) The building itself is beautiful, a big building built around an open central courtyard. If you’re a solo traveller and want to do Angkor Wat but don’t have much time, try a day trip from Phnom Penh. It’s easier than you expect! Air Asia now fly daily domestic flights between Phnom Penh and the new airport in Siem Reap and it’s great for making a quick trip to the wonder of the world. Air Cambodia also fly the route but they are obviously a lot more expensive! I was worried about doing a few days on my own so I got the early morning flight and it took around 45 minutes. I then had a guide meet me at the airport, take me to Angkor Wat and give me a tour of the main sites. We managed to get all the main areas and have a nice lunch, it’s definitely something that can take longer but one day is enough if you just want to experience it! Then I got dropped into the center of Siem Reap and got the airport shuttle to the terminal, it took just under an hour. The airport is brand new and super efficient so you can get there just before your flight! I've just arrived in Phnom Penh, and it feels like a completely different world compared to Phu Quoc. There are no beaches or ocean breeze here, but instead, there’s chaos, energy, and a unique big-city vibe. 🔥 First Impressions: 1. Traffic is wild! Scooters, tuk-tuks, and cars move in all directions, yet somehow, no one crashes. 2. Contrasts everywhere. Luxury hotels and skyscrapers stand right next to street markets and simple wooden houses. 3. Two official currencies. Cambodia uses both US dollars and Cambodian riels. You can pay with either, and ATMs allow withdrawals in both currencies. 4. The atmosphere. This city truly feels like the heart of Southeast Asia—bustling streets, street food aromas, and ancient temples hidden within the urban chaos. 🍜 What I’ve Tried So Far: - Amok – Cambodia’s signature dish, a delicious fish curry with coconut milk. - Lok Lak – Marinated beef with rice and a fried egg, a true Cambodian classic. - Strong Cambodian coffee – Even stronger than Vietnamese coffee, but still served with condensed milk. 🏛 What’s Next? 🔹 Exploring the Royal Palace and Phnom Penh’s temples. 🔹 Figuring out how the city works and where digital nomads can live comfortably. 🔹 Diving into the local culture, tasting more traditional dishes, and discovering how Cambodia differs from Vietnam. It is located in Phnom Penh and not far from the city center. The park is accessible for everyone without entrance fee. There are some nice restaurants around this park. Also near the park is luxurious neighborhood. I got here with tuktuk and the driver dropped me not far from the park.

I want to go to Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia! I will introduce three restaurants where you can enjoy delicious Cambodian food! [Olala] A café for tourists on the seaside. Many Western customers visit. The staff are friendly, and it is easy to use even for solo travelers. Both the passion fruit smoothie and the banh hoi, a sheet of rice noodles topped with fried spring rolls, were delicious. I recommend it. [LaBaab Restaurant] It was hard to find the location, so I wandered around and finally found the restaurant. It is on the third floor, up the stairs. I ordered passion fruit juice, fish amok, and chart tro up (ឆាត្រប់), and they were all delicious! I especially recommend the chart tro up, a dish of eggplant and minced pork. The fish amok was a gentle coconut milk flavor that even I, who don't like fish very much, could eat. This is a restaurant I definitely want you to visit. [Eleven One Kitchen] The food you eat in the open air surrounded by greenery is exceptional! The prices are a bit high considering the cost of living in Cambodia, but the staff are friendly and speak English, so it's a safe place for tourists. I had lok lak ($5.75), which had a ketchup flavor that would definitely be popular with Japanese people, and it was delicious! Kids would probably like it too. For dessert, the passion mango mousse ($3) and passion milk juice ($2.25) both had a tropical taste and were great! It's easy for women to enter alone, so I recommend it. The location of this hotel is very convenient, with Wat Ounalom, Dreamland, and Ostro Bistro & Lounge all within walking distance, so you can visit them anytime. The location of this hotel is really great, close to the Mekong River, with many temples and restaurants nearby. The hotel is beautifully decorated, with attention to detail. The hotel has a combination of oriental style and simple design, which is very comfortable. The front desk staff are friendly, attentive, and easy to communicate with. I stayed in a room overlooking the Mekong River, and the view was indescribably beautiful. The room is quite large, with a comfortable bed and stylish furniture. The bathroom is spacious and bright, with slippers, a bathtub, and a hairdryer, making it easy to freshen up. The room is equipped with a safe, air conditioning, and a wardrobe, and even the need for drinking water is well met, with an electric kettle for hot water anytime, anywhere. There are many good places to eat around the hotel, and I recommend a few restaurants: The Shop 240 (café) for pumpkin bread, Lone Star Saloon (Western food) for fried chicken cutlets, and Friends The Restaurant (Southeast Asian food) for seafood laksa, all of which are not to be missed. Get up early and visit the nearby shops and restaurants, and you'll always find a pleasant surprise. However, this hotel is not without its flaws. Although the room is well soundproofed at night, some outside noise still comes in, especially the drumming early in the morning, which is like an alarm clock waking you up 😅. Also, the bed is relatively hard, which not everyone will like. If you have a preference for the firmness of the bed, it is best to communicate in advance before checking in. In summary, Amanjaya Pancam Suites Hotel is in a great location, with excellent service, large rooms, and complete facilities, making it a highly recommended choice. Although there are some minor issues, overall, it is a satisfying stay! I hope you have a great time here too 😊
