Montserrat, a day trip from Barcelona
Montserrat is one of the peaked mountains; located in Catalonia, Spain. In my opinion, this place is unique outside Barcelona.
A place worth visiting, offering views over Catalonia!
How to get there?
Take the R5 line to Aeri de Montserrat, this is from Placa España, Barcelona. From Aeri de Montserrat, you can take the cable car going to the top (be marveled by the scenic spots along the way).
If you do not want to take the public transportation, there are also guided tours being offered by several sites such as getyourguide, klook (this is not a paid advertisement 😂). #tripblazers

Must-see attractions on the map if staying in the area for a few days
Spanish Mediterranean Coast Tour ~ Barcelona (Region)
The beautiful view from this place is worth it, and here's a bonus - admission is free, and in addition, a free elevator/cable car will take you to the top of the mountain. At the top is a beautiful old historic tower and 8 a huge Catalan flag that can be seen from almost every corner of the town. There is plenty of space and benches around to sit, relax and enjoy the view. In order not to retrace our steps, we headed down the charming staircase on the other side of the slope.

Small town quiet church
Spanish Mediterranean Coast Tour ~ Barcelona (Region)
The Church of Saint Mikuláš is located in the center of Malgrat de Mar. It was completed at the end of the 18th century. The path leading to the church is lined with plane trees and benches where you can pleasantly relax, a pleasant place for contemplation and relaxation. If you visit Malgrat de Mar, do not forget to visit this beautiful place, which can be reached by walking through its streets.

A coastal town just 60 km from Barcelona
Spain Mediterranean Coast Tour - Barcelona (Greater Region)
Malgrat de Mar is located on the northern coast of Barcelona, just 60 kilometers from the city of Barcelona. Its Mediterranean climate and more than 4.5 kilometers of spacious white sandy beaches and all amenities invite you to spend a day by the sea.
You can find tranquil walking and bird watching opportunities in natural spaces like the sand dunes of Playa de la Conca or the delta of the Tordera River. Malgrat de Mar is also surrounded by wilderness, perfect for hiking or cycling.
Stroll through the heart of the Old Town and look for architectural sites like the 18th-century Church of Sant Nicolau or the late 19th-century Peixateries Velles (the old fish market). Another interesting place is La Pilona, a rocky platform in the middle of the sea that was used to load iron cargo a century ago.
