High Up and Loving It
#summervacay Pha Ngern Silver Cliff Viewpoint is one of those hikes that makes you question your life choices halfway up... but then totally rewards you at the top. Located just outside of Nong Khiaw it’s not the longest hike, but it’s steep, rocky, and definitely a sweat-fest. Bring water, for real.
Once you reach the top, though? Oh man. You’re treated to a panoramic view of those classic karst mountains, the Nam Ou River winding through the valley, and endless greenery. It’s just chef’s kiss. The cliff itself is this epic slab of rock where you can perch and feel like you’re on top of Laos. Super peaceful, super scenic.
Not too many people around either, which made it even better. I stayed up there way too long, just lying on a rock and soaking up the view. If you’re in Nong Khiaw and up for a bit of a climb, don’t skip this one, it’s a beauty.
