Best choice for a stay in Shanghai: Renaissance Shanghai Zhongshan Park Hotel
📍Address: 1018 Changning Road, Shanghai (Close to Zhongshan Park Station on Metro Lines 2, 3, and 4, only 15 minutes from Hongqiao Airport 🚇, and a 10-minute walk to artistic streets like Yuyuan Road)
During this business trip to Shanghai, I happened to win the Shanghai Leisure Consumption Voucher, which offers a discount of 180 RMB for spending over 700 RMB. Booking this Renaissance Hotel for the first time allowed me to enjoy a price of less than 500 RMB after the discount, plus earn Marriott points. The stay experience far exceeded expectations.
The hotel is located atop the Longemont City Life Center, with a lobby on the first floor providing direct access to the shopping mall. Across the street is the Changning Raffles City Plaza, making dining, shopping, and entertainment extremely convenient. Opening the doors to the Renaissance Shanghai Zhongshan Park Hotel feels like stepping into a vertical art gallery! The giant crystal chandelier cascading like a galaxy in the 58-story atrium, the metallic relief walls in the elevator hall replicating the century-old charm of the Bund, and contemporary art installations at every corner are truly stunning. My favorite spot is the sky lobby on the 27th floor, where 270-degree floor-to-ceiling windows offer panoramic views of the Puxi business district. In the evening, sipping on a signature cocktail "Shanghai Twilight" while watching the sunset over the urban landscape of Puxi, with a distant view of the iconic Pudong skyline, is the perfect way to experience Shanghai!
🌟Hotel Design Style
The hotel stands out with its high-altitude city views and cyberpunk aesthetic. Guest rooms are designed with an Art Deco theme, featuring leather headboards embedded with brass-textured Shikumen carvings, mini-bars styled as vintage suitcases, and custom-made room keys with silhouettes of Bund architecture. The executive floors are equipped with Dyson hairdryers and Ferragamo toiletries, while suites boast bathtubs facing floor-to-ceiling windows—a perfect spot to soak while watching the golden light trails of traffic on Yan'an Elevated Road, evoking the cinematic vibe of Wong Kar-wai films.
🌟Hotel Facilities
➡️ 25-meter starry heated pool: Look up to see a starry dome, full vacation vibes (Unfortunately, I didn’t have time to experience it this time)
➡️ Diverse dining options: Mediterranean cuisine, casual coffee spots, and Shanghai-style Chinese dishes—everything you could want (Next time, I’ll book a room with breakfast included❗️)
➡️ 24-hour gym: Spacious and equipped with a sauna! Running on a treadmill facing the city skyline is incredibly motivating
➡️ Meeting facilities: Featuring a 1,250-square-meter pillarless banquet hall, the largest in Puxi
➡️ Varied guest rooms: Rooms are located above the 25th floor, including deluxe rooms, superior deluxe rooms, executive rooms, executive suites, and duplex deluxe suites, starting at 31 square meters. Unlike other hotels, rooms have long, comfortable leather sofas by the windows, perfect for enjoying expansive city views. Luxurious down mattresses and marble bathrooms with separate wet and dry areas ensure a comfortable stay. Additionally, the hotel offers a certain number of accessible rooms.
🌟Hotel Service
The overall service at the hotel is quite good. Since I arrived at Shanghai Hongqiao Station early in the morning after taking an overnight train, I reached the hotel before 8 AM. Surprisingly, I was allowed to check in early, giving me time to shower, freshen up, and prepare for work later in the afternoon. The first-floor lobby also has vending machines and cabinets with daily necessities for convenient self-service.
